Looking at a 2007 Roush stage 3 convertible mustang as my first mustang. They are asking $34k and the car has 34k miles on it. What do you experts think?

I'd be leaving a Porsche 968 cabrio to make the leap to a mustang. Time for an American muscle car.

Yeah that concerns me too! Carfax says it was a factory car, so who knows how many people were driving it, even though it was a one owner. Still though the higher miles make it more affordable.

Honestly, I'd pass that car up unless you can get even lower than that. If it was a factory car, that likely means it was never driven with care. Its probably a hard 34,000 miles.

I'm assuming you want a convertible, so this doesn't help, but there is a 2007 Roush 427R for sale on ebay with 12k miles for $34,900.

There is a 2006 Supercharged Saleen Convertible with 3k miles for $38k for sale...

I know it might sound like quite a leap, but if you're willing to go mid 30s on a Stang...

1) Why not get a CS or a Bullitt brand new and supercharge the SOB

or

2) Why not go another $10-$15k and get a new Shelby?

That much green for a roughed-up Roush doesn't sound like a good investment to me. But that's just me.

Thanks for all of the replies. I have one major criteria, it has to be a convertible.

I spoke with the guy selling the Saleen on e-bay for 38k, I really liked that one but he was firm on his price of 38k. His bid ended last night with the reserve not met, so I may contact him again. I prefer black anyway, but I like the look of the Roush a little better.

I might give the 30k or maybe a little less a try and see what happens. Noi hurry to buy so I can keep looking
