I have seen tons of guys on here say the same thing, dont matter if its blown or not. You make it fast like hell and get used to it and need more.
Its called Mod-itis and there is no known cure :nonono:

Yep thats why I'm at where I'm at. LOL It was Im just gonna do a few mods, then I just want 12s, then 11s, and now I want 10s and should eaisly be ther this summer.

You really have to just say enough is enough or it gets really crazy and expensive. I should have done this along time ago but I didn't. The car is to the point where I cant go out and have fun with it like I did when it was a 12sec car.

right now my car is a low 12 second car and i want to bust into the 11s next time at the track...but when i go WOT it feels so slow bc i'm so used to the power whereas my friends are like HOLY CRAP this thing is fast

Oh yes...know exactly where your coming from.

I used to think something was wrong with my GT, because coming home from Tims tune (468/479) the car just felt INSANE. Felt like a line backer was just driving you into the seat! Just crazy. But by the time I got home...most of that feeling was gone :( Then I did a few little things and it was just starting to feel slower and slower...I thought it was loosing power. Put it on the dyno and it threw down 479/512 LOL.

BUT I must say...at the end with 12PSI and T-61s (550RWHP!) it didnt feel slow when the power came on! I didnt get used to that, and I think mainly because the car just got faster with RPM and really let me feel the power better...along with the fact that i didnt get to play with it much at that power level :(

Cobra felt slow as heck in 3rd and 4th gear though when I switched LOL....now its starting to feel faster because im slowly forgetting how much power my GT had.

OMG THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL....i feel like my car is losing power and i want to throw it back on the dyno just to make sure...i put down 379/370 before the powerpipe and 75mm tb/plenum....what do you think i will put down after those installs??

Im betting your going to throw down right @ 400RWHP. From what I have always seen, blown cars usually make more power after you run them a while. I think this is due to the bearings and everything getting seated properly in the blower.

I think you should throw it on a dyno....that helped ease my worry about loosing power and really helps to control that urge to think the car is loosing power after you already been through a cycle of thinking its lost alot of power and then having the dyno say that it hasnt. From that point on I was much better able to realize it was just ME and not the car.

Hmm you ever feel like sometime when you go WOT the car feels SUPER fast....then the next time you just dont get the same rush? I mean just like random, rare times when you go WOT the car feels like its supposed to....but the previous WOT run and the ones after just dont have that same feeling?
I know I do that sometimes and my cobra will just feel FAST like everything just aligns perfectly.

right now i have a small heat exchanger on my car with the aftercooler...do you think it would be beneficial HP wise to get a fluidyne cobra heat exchanger??

I would :nice:

I know what you mean about loosing power.. I am totally use to my new found HP.... However, I am thinking about driving 3 hours just to put my car on a dynojet to see what numbers I am making. When I got dyno'd here in town it was on a dyno dynamics (or something like that) and from what I have read online, those things can read high OR low +/- 10-15% from what I have read. I really think I should have more power than I put down....

But I feel your pain buddy, I already have my next build planned inside my head... :D

This is the exact reason why guys end up with 800whp street cars. They are in the later stages of this disease. Its like anything human beings do. We become acustomed to the feelings. Its why crack heads steal, to get more dope to get a high Its why bush takes over another country, to get more power. We get used to things. We drive these 400whp cars daily, atleast I do, I know exactally how long it takes to get to 120 (not long) We get bored with things.

this is why my modding has slowed significantly. i realized it's a viscous cycle. i'll do a little more modding from time to time. but overall, decided to spend my money on other toys as well.

Interestingly, I haven't heard much from the turbo people. I think you'll find their experience is a little different! A supercharged engine's output is very predictable, linear and repeatable. Even the cetrifugal supercharges slowly build boost, so it isn't a huge shock when the power comes. You get used to the feeling and know what to expect.

A turbo car, however, is different! When you step into the throttle, it is plain and boring until you are hit HARD with full boost. Below about 2500 to 3000, it will drive like your engine always does, polite and well mannered. Step into the throttle a bit more and it will feel boring at first, but then shock you by building to full boost quickly. It does not have the linear and repeatable power that you'd expect from a supercharged engine. It is the unpredictable nature and fast spool up that really makes it interesting and keeps you from getting bored and used to the power. The huge mid-range torque will bring a smile to your face everytime. Really, turbo's are FUN. You will never get tired of the feeling you get on spool up, especially if you are running a lot of boost. :D
