has anyone ever put one in a four banger fox? is it possible?

I am doing a v8 conversion on my 93 but, it has been put on hold for a little while.I have all the drivetrane parts already and was wondering if I could use the manual from the v8 car as I have an auto right now and I hate it.

Its more than possible its easy.

There are several issues though.
1. you need all the 2.3 5 speed swap parts EI bellhousing, flywheel, clutch etc.
2. A slightly differnt input bearing/bushing is needed.
3. The reason trubo 2.3 guys like the V8 trans is because it doesn't have as low of a first gear. That low first gear helps the N/A cars from being so gutless. All in all you have a slightly stronger car (maybe) and you'll have to swap it all again when you go V8.

Its WAY easier to leave it alone and just drop in the V8 and trans already bolted together.

not worth the effort then? I was hoping to ditch the slush box, but if the first gear ratio is higher then my car will be even more of a turd. oh well.
thanks for the info

The first gears are close but the T5 still may be lower.

Its certainly not worth the effort at this time unless you were going to stay with a 2.3. Even then I would swap everything together and deal with the A4ld as long as its alive.
