I recently acquired a '00 3.8. The car had been ran into a ditch and messed up the front end, no biggie. It also appears someone tried to hot-wire it. The computer chip for the pats system is demolished, the key tumbler and all has been taken out. My wife and i want to try to bring this car back to life but i am at a loss as to where to begin on it. I put a battery on and get power to the fuse pannel under the hood, but that is about as far as i can seem to find any power. At the current time we are trying to get the car moved to our house where we can put some time into it. If anyone can give me any pointers as to where to begin my journey i am MUCH appreciated to you. Thank you for any responses and any and all help... JamesM

I'd recommend getting a Haynes or Chilton's manual. That will help you with alot of stuff. And if I remember correctly, they have wiring diagrams in there to! Hope that helps.

some good advice:nice:

Also, there used to be some online ford shop manuals around but I think they caught on and took those all down.

You should still be cautious about these manuals, however. They often (especially with wiring diagrams) are incorrect. I tossed out my manual after I found that all the wire color codes didn't match up, and after finding several other problems with the book. Good luck! Just be sure to get in good with a Ford dealership, they can print out the correct diagrams.

The manuals I was referring to are the manuals the ford techs use in the shop.:nice:
