I never said having Safety Equipment was ricer.... But a incar Fire Extinguisher is.

If you have this in your car, you are a Ricer...PERIOD

Here is a link for all the ricers to buy a Chrome APC Fire Extinguisher!!!

i have one too....and its chrome!!!!!llol! hahhahahahaha.

im a ricer. :D i have it mounted to the console hump on the passenger side, kind of tucked up under the dash. you can hardly see it. i was required to have one for some of the car shows i was in. i thought that was kind of a strange requirement though:shrug:

Car show that requiered an extinguisher  there has to be a funny story behind that rule :rlaugh:

Halon systems are cool but impractical for a street car and really expensive to refill. Too small of a fire extinguisher and it is pretty useless and too big its too in the way, we dont exactly have a Caddy :D Seems a good 1/2 size one in the trunk would be a good idea.....unless it was the trunk that was on fire

Ok so your a ricer for having a fire extinguisher mounted in your car? If YOU think it looks "lame" then thats fine. But I think its so stupid on here that people always bash each other because they dont like how the other person's car looks. Sure some things look retarded as hell but I don't hassle people because of it. Its THEIR CAR and THEIR MONEY. My car doesnt have any stupid **** that makes it look bad so it doesnt matter to me.

I carry one in my 68. I've had too many times when I could have used one to not carry one. A wire drooping down on a header and shorting out and stuff like that. I haven't actually had to use it yet, but better safe than sorry.

Some good info so far! Looks like I'll be picking up a small 2 LB bottle, and mounting it under my pass. seat or in the trunk.

And Handz, hope your car doesn't burn down one day. You won't be able to do much then. Could always spit on it I guess?

Thanks guys.

There is nothing rice about a fire extinguisher inside the car.I now can one all the time in my car, that is the FIRST thing i do with a new car.Back in the mid 90's I had a camaro that whike going down the highway lost the front tranny seal on an automatic, that tranny fluid somehow hit the cats and caught fire,by the time i got the car stopped I had about 6 foot flames coming over each door while I was still in the car,to get out I had to jump through that and singed all the hair on my arms,so if anybody wants to call it rice....fine but mine stays right behind the seats.Im not gonna be mangled or killed because some think its rice, safety first, looks second.

Lets just say I am driving and my car catches Fire. I am not gonna Be Fiddling around in my car for a Little Fire Extinguisher While my car is burning... I am Going to GTFO of my car!!!

Thats just what I said, but I had to jump through about 6 feet of flames,if it had been worse that extinguisher may have saved my life, screw the car, thats what insurance is for,my life or anyone in my family...thats not replacable.Im all for any safety, and I too carry a small tool bag and jumper cables, and a small emergency kit.

Anyone who says it is rice to carry a fire extinguisher in an inconsipicous place is an idiot. There are car fires all the time, and a fire extinguisher could save your car or your life!

One would hope a newer car like ours won't be likely to cetch fire, but you never know. A simple electrical short or gas leak could easily start a fire.

I don't have one in the 97, but the 88 has a fire extinguisher in the trunk, and I'm glad to know it's there!

I have a small one in the trunk of the mustang and one under the seat of the lightning. Both are hidden but there just in case, and yes alot of car shows require you have one or they deduct points, I have no idea why. I just pull them out when I'm at a show where they are required.

SRT Handz, I'm sorry man I know you've been around a while but that is the most ignorant thing I have ever read on here. Pretty much inexcusable. :notnice:

I wouldn't even knock the person in your photo who mounted an extinguisher up front for being a ricer, I would knock them for placing such a large unsecured metallic object directly in front of a passengers face and potentially creating a hazard.

A large part of what I like about this community is the general respect for those things which are practical and responsible. I've never seen anyone here bashing someone for using or equipping their rides with safety equipment... not to mention with something as shallow as the threat of being "rice". I hope you were joking, or else you would be the first.

So if you have a small spark catch a piece of carpet on fire and it is barely smoldering, you're going to walk away and let the rest of your car burn to the ground because you didn't have the balls to spray it for 2 seconds?

I'll laugh as I drive by in my car, with my fire extinguisher:rolleyes:
