First time i tried to drive the car since putting motor/tranny in car. 1988 coupe with 5.0 and aod from 90 lx. Motor has been running for about a month, got the car ready, started right up, let idle until a little warm, checked everything out, put car in reverse, nothing. Car wouldent move in any gear. I know it ran fine before the swap. Plenty of new fluid, nss pluged in. The line running from the shifter to the tranny works fine, so it is bein put into gear. Why wont the car go? It doesent really feel like its setting into gear, any plugs i missed? sorry for the long post, any help?

when you installed the torque convertor back in did you bolt it to the flywheel or did you put it in the tranny and turn it until you heard the 3 clicks and it set?

if you did seat it properly did you bolt the torque convertor back to the flywheel?

when you removed the convertor you prolly lost alot of fluid and it takes alot of fluid to fill one back up. let it idle in nuetral with park brake on and check it to make sure its full.

I pulled the tranny and motor out togather, and reinstalled them togather, i lost some fluid but replaced and dipstick says its good, still cant get it going.:nonono: what else could it be? I'm ready to drive it for the first time.

Still no go on the tranny, wasent the tv cable, linkage is clicking under car when put into gear, fluid that was lost during pull was replaced, and never pulled tranny from motor, and nss is hooked up, what else could it be? i know it ran fine before pull, when i put it into gear, i dont feel that movement feel that its in, anything else?

At this point i almost wish i was that ignorent, atleast i would know what it was then. Any more ideas? Its ready, except it just wont "click" into gear. Im getting ill again.

Any ideas, maybe something simple i forgot?
