location of vin # on engine

i got a 00 gt and i was told it has an engine swap, where can i find the vin # on the engine so i can run a carfax on the engine.

you cant. ford does not put VINs on engines like Honda.

ive seen barcodes on valve covers, however i dont think you can track them through carfax.

The old 5.0 motors i believe have the last digits of the VIN stamped into the block, but you need to pull the engine to see it.


Ford doesn't put full VIN's on their motors. You really can't trace a motor to a certain car....at least not the general public
