Chrome Rims

I just got my chrome FR500s from American Muscle. Is there anything special that you need to do to care for the rims. I got Chrome Wheel cleaner so far. Also, when I wash my car, will the high pressure hurt the rims?

I'm waiting on lug nuts from American Muscle, they only sent me six  . I'll post the pics once I get them.

I would stay away from any kind of strong chemicals especially with the high pressure, ive seen messups like that a number of times, if it was me I would stick with somthing wipe on maybe and when using the high pressure try not to get to close because that to can mess you up.

I just got Chrome Bullit wheels from American Muscle. The key to long life is the tire shop that mounts them. Make sure they don't place the wheel on the tire machine so that the claws that grip them poke 3 little holes in 4 corners of the wheels. This breaks the chrome plating causing corrosion in the future. I mounted mine myself. I spread the claws out first, and then clamped them from the outside wheel lip. I also placed towels on those clamps so they won't harm the chrome plating.

After I mounted the tires, I then waxed the whole inside (Brake area) of the wheel, including behind the spokes etc.... I then waxed the front face and lip of the wheel. I used a mild, name brand wheel cleaner. I also used a soft wheel brush to clean them. I wipe them down after I wash as well. Taking them off at the end of every season and cleaning them is a plus too.

best thing for chrome wheels is very simple.

put a couple drops of Dawn Dish Soap in a pan of hot water, and use a lint free towel or a microfiber towel. spray the wheels off, then dip your towel in the hot water and soap, and gently wipe all of the dirt off...rinsing as necessary.

once they are clean, take a dry lint free or microfiber towel and dry them off.

I use a shop vac to suck all the water out of the lug nut wells, and then I dry mine off with a microfiber towel.

It's also a good idea to use some turtle wax on them as it puts a protective film over the chrome, but it's not visible to the eye, and makes the chrome look pretty good.

I use a name brand wheel cleaner, wipe the wheels down with a microfiber sponge, then rinse. Then dry. Easy. If im feeling it, i'll use chrome polish and wax.
