So i have SLP from front to back on my car. I think that my LM2's are shot. I think they sound crackley and crummy. I was thinking about just replacing them with the same thing but then i went to a speed shop and the owner suggested that i put some kind of baffled muffler on my car to add some back pressure. I really hate to lose the whole loud sound of my car but i wonder if the back pressure will help.

If i were to swap out my catback for a new one what brand do you guys prefer?

I've had the LM2's for 3 years. They sound the same wether the car is hot or cold.

I am not sure why he suggested more back pressure. I still am running high-flow cats on my x-pipe, so i would think that would be enough back pressure  ?

if you have cats on it, then you're fine for back pressure. I'm not a fan of baffled mufflers...blowmasters don't really make any decent power and the sound never opens up in the higher rpms like straight-through mufflers.

Your cats or your mufflers are just getting older and louder with time. Most likely, you do not need a new catback...its probably the midpipe, more specifically, the cats. There is not much that can really go bad on the LM resonators. How old are the cats? what xpipe?

The LM2s are mufflers, not resonators like the I's. I do agree with you though about the midpipe. More then likely your cats went bad or it may also be you exhaust system is just more broken in and you just noticed the change in the sound now.
I had my LM2s on for about 2 years know and did notice that they are louder now and crackle more then when I first had them on. Could just be that.

SLP X sounds like trash with baffled muffs

You can buy the LM2 resonators sep. I'd call SLP and see if they will hook you up. Their parts are good quality I can't see them being garbage in 3 years. Could be something else going on.

Coulda sworn the LM2's are just a LM1 resonator with stuff inside.

The LM2s are the same as LM1s. Just with stuff inside to muffle the sound a little.

I have a catted SLP X-pipe that is 2 years old. The cats are throwing codes so do you think they just need to be replaced and that should solve my problems?

From my on experience I came to this conclusion.....
When I added my x- pipe I soon was throwing a front O2 code....
Since high flow cats dont heat up as fast as the stock cats, cause they
are less restrictive this may damage the O2 sensors. Combined with the
MAC straight shot CAI I was running may have been causing a too lean of a condition for the factory tune too adjust to. I replaced both front O2's
and went back to my stock CAI with K&N and silencer removed.
Havent had a code come back for 2 months.
Anyone feel free to analize my guess on this..........
