Hey guys, I haven't posted here in forever, but thought it would be the time to start again after picking up my new 2008 GT/CS today!!

I'm impressed with how much more comfortable and refined this car is over the previous model. I drove a 2001 Mustang for about 7 years and was about to buy a C5 Z06...but after driving the GT, I fell in love with it! Right now I'm telling myself that I won't mod it...but the thought of a X-pipe is getting to me already LOL! As soon as i get some pics, I'll post them on here!!

"GOOD DEAL", and welcome to the world of the retro stang. The S-197 is built on the linclon LS plateform, so it would be refined to a large extent. These cars are very smooth, there even a pleasure to drive when your feeling lazy and not performance minded.

Good job; to tell you the truth, I prefer driving the Mustang to the Vette; it's a less harsh ride and more like a go-cart on steroids. The Vette can feel harsh and large at times. At lets not even get started on that humongous ass.

Got a track rental this weekend we're taking both cars to. Unfortunately, the A4 Vette will run 12's all day long w/ no effort and I'm guessing it's gonna take a bit for me to work out the 5-speed GT enough to get it in the 13's

I had the Bassani's, K-Brace w/ torque limiters, CAI and tuner on order before I even picked up the new '08 GT on 4/30. Expensive month.

Congrats on the new Stang! Not wanting to do any mods:rlaugh:...until after getting out after driving it the first time!
As far as getting it into the 13s...decent weather/track prep and launches, you could be in the mid/high 13s stock:nice:

wow w t f .. you had the kind of money to buy a brand new Z06? but decided not too?...

wow i dont know what to say, i love mustangs but shesh....

if u got that kind of cash going, you take that new stang and make it FLY...

A good used C5 Z06 will run you just a little more/about the same as a new GT. I came very close to pulling the trigger on one of these before buy my Roush.

I was looking at c5 Z06 which is the same price as a brand new GT. Thing for me is I drive a lot every day to and from work, so I wanted a new car instead of an used one. Right thing to have done was to buy a little 4 cylinder since gas is kinda high, but I would be kicking myself in the ass for driving something that I hate. Soo, seeing that I've always loved Mustangs, it was really a no brainer getting this one.

You will be much happier with the GT/CS. I am a GM lover day in and day out, and I can say that the Corvette is no more comfortable than the GT. Sure, the Vette can carve a corner, but the GT makes much more sense to own.

And as for not modding it.....hahaha! Yeah right! You bought the easiest car to mod this side of a '93 honda. I doubt you will leave it alone.

Here are the pics of the new car

The Bullit is such a nice car man! I was in between the CS and the Bullit. They had a highland green one in the showroom and I almost got it, but something about the CS just kept my head turning its way. I didn't test drive the Bullit, but I hear that the car is amazing. How does the stock Bullit exhaust sound? I've heard that it can't be imitated regardless of whatever kind of aftermarket mufflers, x/h pipes you put on your car. Did you ever drive the 2001?

Very nice choice lutador:nice:
When I was last at the dealer, I saw a dark candy apple red GT/CS and it is a slightly nicer color than the laser red(my '00 GT was this color). With a few tasteful minor exterior enhancements, the dark highland green Bullitt would be hard to beat:D
