Bullitt OEM strut tower brace installed

Guys, here's some pics of my OEM Bullitt STB that I just got from a member on another website.

Anyhow the member and I decided to swap braces, because neither his Bullitt brace was able to fit his GT500 hood, nor was my previous GT500 STB able to clear my stock GT hood.

Needless to say, I couldn't be happier as the Bullitt STB clears both my hood, and OEM intake plenum cover, with no gaps nor slight bulges in my hood whatsoever. I also measured the clearance between my plenum cover, and strut tower brace, and have exactly 1/2" of clearance. I've also noticed that my hood now closes a lot easier too.

Anyway for those who may be interested in purchasing one. KC from Clevenger Ford has them for $144.40. OEM part # 8R3Z 16A200-A

Also, the OEM Bullitt STB is the same brace as: FRPP V6 part # M-20201-F.

And Btw: I'd also like to thank partsbill, for the great heads up, and inspiration

Rocky :D

Do you happen to know what STB's will clear a Whipple on an '07GT?

Although the Bullitt brace does clear the OEM intake plenum cover. I'm not sure if it will clear a Whipple or not. If the Whipple sits any higher than the plenum cover, then I would have to say it will not clear.

In the meantime, you could also check Steeda Autosports, Granatelli Motorsports, and BMR fabrication. Perhaps you could contact them, and find out if they have a brace that will clear a Whipple.

Anyway, here's the link for BMR's website:

There is a guy on the Bullitt forums that has a blower (don't remember whcih one) on his car and he had to do some minor trimming on the underside of the brace but it looks awesome. Gimme a sec I will find the link..

I appreciate the link. The guy says in the item description that he has not tested the fit on a car with the plenum cover. You say it fits OK, right? Any indentions in the hood blanket?

Stan,

If your referring to Clevenger Ford's description, although KC has not yet test fitted on a car with the plenum cover. He does mention that one of his customers has, in which he has stated, that it does indeed clear the plenum cover.

As for myself, I'm still using the original hood blanket, and so far. I have not noticed any indentation marks yet. But then again, there were already previous indentation marks, when I had used a GT500 strut tower brace, that clearly did not fit my stock GT hood properly.
