*Saturday night Kidd Valley cruise-in*

All summer through the end of September, you are hereby invited to Kidd Valley Hamburgers in north Seattle each and every Saturday for a Mustang cruise-in.

Normally, with nice weather we get between 20 and 30 cars and we had 50 on May 17th this year. Come on out, have a burger and socialize. If anyone is up for the planning how about a couple of evening cruises this summer?

One note: There is a fairly heavy Police presence in the area. People have been ticketed for excessive display of speed and/or burning out. As long as we behave like adults (well, most of the time anyway) and remember that the staff of Kidd Valley has to answer to their neighbors the other six days of the week, we will continue to be welcome there.

Hope to see everybody there.

Directions for those that have not been before:

From I-5, either north or south bound, take the "NE 145th Street" exit (exit 175).

Head west approximately one mile to Aurora Avenue North.

Turn left on Aurora.

Kidd Valley is a block down on the right. It will be the drive-in with all the Mustangs in the parking lot. View attachment 317468

All Fords are welcomed with open arms. Hell, we let Ryan in. :D Was that you in the white XR4Ti that cruise through a couple of weeks ago?

Ryan will never open his hood though! :(

I was talking with you a couple weeks ago waiting in line to order. Was making the "derogatory":D remarks about your XR4Ti, your are just a braver then I in wanting to take on such a car. I love them but just can't bring myself to buy/work on such a unique make. (don't ask me about Edsels though). Having a little variety out at the get togethers is always a good thing. Heck we even "let" a guy stop by in his Lambo:shrug: although he could not make it over any of the bumps into the parking lot.

Yep... that was me a couple weeks ago and this past Saturday (around 7:30pm-ish). I appreciate the "open arms" policy and I'll definitely take advantage. I've know a couple fellow XR enthusiasts in the area (with nicer cars than mine) so I'll invite them as well.

BTW grover, I was just hassling you that evening... no offense intended or taken. Sadly the XR4TI has suffered from a lot of bad press and misconception over the years. They're actually pretty fabulous cars and are dead easy to work on. Same motor as the SVO/Turbocoupe... doesn't get much simpler than that really. That said, I don't want to "enlighten" folks too much... might make prices go up.:(

:p

See you next week!

I'll tell you... if it grows beyond 40-50 cars then it will outgrow that spot very quickly. This is the sad thing about most potential Seattle cruise spots: just not enough parking.

BTW, why isn't there some other spot on Friday nights? Whatever happened to the old Saturday night Burgermaster scene anyway?

Things got out of hand at BM and the manager shut the car crowd out. If you fill a parking lot, don't buy anything and do a bunch of burnouts, flybys and get a lot of police action, things will go away fast. We've had up to 70 cars on this lot, but normally we get 20-30 on any given Saturday night. If everybody is cool, there will be no problems.

Sorry I didn't make it last night... I forgot I had to attend my kids' school auction. Next week for sure.

BTW, I forgot that there is a cruise in Lynnwood on Friday nights at the corner of 196th and 44th (next to the Taco Time). I went Friday and there was a nice crowd and lots of cool cars. Would be nice to see more Mustangs though.
