Does anyone have height measurements on edelbrocks efi performer intake and victor jr?
I am thinking of going with a different intake set up that allows more hood clearance.
I currently have a hogans gt40 sheetmetal upper with performer lower. I need to loose around 2" if that is possible. If the victor jr is shorter then I may also go with an elbow of some sort to achieve my 2". I do not want to take the intake off until I am sure I want to make the changes. I could not find anything on Edelbrock's website. I tried to measure the performer and it looked to be around 5.75". Any help would be :nice:.

i just bought an eddlebrock performer intake with professional products lower intake. The upper intake is 5.75 from base to top flange of throttle body mount. About 6.25 to top of throttle body assembly. Have not installed on my 351w yet, but hope it all fits under my 70 hood.

I have been trying to do some research on this. This is what I have found.

Torker 2 is out because of the sharp angle of runners despite its short 4.75" height

Victor jr. is an option and install injectors it's height is 5.75

Super victor is not even a consideration due to it's height of 6.25"

My truck lower edelbrock part#3884 can't find the height on #3886

So.... really have not found out anything special. It looks like I am going to try dropping the motor 1-1.5" and shave an .75" out of the top of the intake.

It all depends on this :
Modifying their design I think I can get the motor dropped that far. I will also need to remove the oil pan and see how much clearance I will have between the windage tray and TCP rack. If this allows enough room I will have to take a torch to the oil pan.

It is fast injected without maf sensor only a 90mm throttle body.

My last alternative is to go with a efi coverted vic jr. and get an elbow made.

readers beware!!! long!

That is great news about the torker!!!!
I may need to check into this a little more.
This particular motor was built for for the street
Here are the specs on the motor
418W with svo block
I believe the cam specs are : (hyd roller)
.544 intake .510 exhaust
duration I believe is 224 int. and around 240exh.
112 LS
heads are brodix track1 195cc and are ported
the flow numbers I believe are a conservative rating of 185cfm@600
motor now has an edel. performer lower with hogans upper
90mm throttle body and 36lb inj
ford 9" 3:89 gear
rich 6 spd with .80 overdrive
the motor was dynoed at 443hp and 450ft lbs at 5500rpm

If I went with a torker2 and elbow, what would be the negative effects other that loosing a small amount of torque?

I may consider a new cam but I think the heads are maxed out and have no intentions on buying a new set

this car is mainly going to be for street and a little autocross

I did not intend on making this post so freakn long:eek:. This is the time for changes if need be.
Thanks alot guys

i just mocked up my 351w with performer intake and looks like i need to loose around and inch in heigth. Looks like shaving the lower intake and using lowering mounts will do the trick. How does the lowering mounts affect header choice and power rack space? Anyone lowered the engine 1 inch and still had room for new power rack and headers?
