SSS

I know everyone is wondering what that means and all well...

I know that I am apparently slow on this Subject cause I am seeing vids on youtube dated back in 06 of this car but damn I love mustangs and I am just now hearing about the Shelby GT500 Super Snake. 725 Hp from a stock car is incredible. By far the most powerful mustang to ever come built from the factory. And all this time people bragging about the new z06s with 505 hp and you can get the SSS for less that the corvette and it makes 220 more hp and can seat 4 people and IMO looks ALOT meaner. I mean come on. You drive a super snake down the road beside the new z06s which car do you think is going to turn more heads. Anyway just thought I would share that and glad Ford is finally starting to throw some REAL hp at the mustangs to shut some skeptics mouth FORD FTW :hail2::nice:

You're sadly mistaken if you believe you can score ANY Shelby car for list price. The dealer markups on those things are freakin' insane, which pretty much erases any advantage the SSS might have over the 'Vette as being a better bang-for-buck deal. :(

Now the Super Snake comes with 600 hp standard, the "best" part is you can get 725 hp if you give up the warranty on your brand new $75K(?) car. I wonder how many folks are going to buy that package? Probably people with more money than common sense, if you wait for the warranty to expire you can put way more than 125 more hp into it.

I got a chance to check out a Super Snake in person

the kr is already hitting sticker prices of 125,000, and thats not even the super snake car. The super snakes will be much higher in price. For the money spent to upgrade to the SS you could spend the money better and make alot more power although you wouldnt have the Super Snake car.

The zo6 can be had for 70-90k still cheaper than the kr, and far cheaper than the super snake. Once the ZR1 hits the scene game over for shelbys. 650hp car that weighs in around 3400lbs?? RUTRO One of the customers at TDS already has one on order and will have it up there soon after he gets it O.o

When I sold Fords, we had a few customers who already owned GT500's and were calling with interest in the Super Snake package. I beleive it was something like a $27k upgrade for the 600hp package and a bit more for the 725 package and yes, you give up your warranty if you opt for 725. Also, you cannot get the 725 package if you have a convertible. The car is then sent to Shelby's shop in Vegas to have the work performed. Seeing how the cheapest Shelby we let out of there was at $60k (a vert listing at $50,xxx so just under $10k over list) plus $27k SS package, thats $87k plus other related costs and fees for a 600hp GT500. About all you would really gain from that is being the only one in your area who has one. You can guarantee that there is a guy nearby, though, who has spent about $5k in the aftermarket on his GT500 who will rip your Super Snake to shreds.

As for the 725hp package, it sucks to be you when you have a tiny little body trim issue or your stereo malfuntions...no warranty means youre SOL.

well the above people that would rather have the z06 I just dont understand you guys. To me you dont get no better than mustang but thats just me. I will take a 5.0 and take half the money that it cost for a new z06 and make it out perform the z06 in EVERY catagory

yeah yeah I said that until I started working at a body shop, and one of our clients sells vipers and vettes, I got to drive alot of the z06's and vipers, the only one I didnt get to drive was the ford gt, but its not even a comparison anymore when you drive one, I dont even think you can, I mean a 505hp car that gets 26mpg is quite awesome and handles and brakes like a damn dream..
