I spent a couple hours to day to practice my flamework. I did the top ones with a stencile and the bottom right I did looking at pics of fire and the bottom left I did freeehand. My wife likes the top and bottom left. I am kind of undecided and am thinking about traditional ghost flames in the rallies. What do you all think?

I do some painting now and again, and I would say that all 3 are great work and can each look good, it just depends on what your going for, I can tell you used the stencils in the top one so that makes it my least favorite. I like the bottom right the best, it just has a sharp look that the bottom left doesn't.

I do a little painting also (mostly custom helmets) and think they both look great, but if you want my 2 cents. The bottom one is the best. I like how it starts out real tight and moves farther apart. The top ones lines are a little hard to look like real flames. If you want to move the stencile farther away from the panel and angle the airbrush a little more it should soften up the lines.

Anyway you look at it, its a great job.

I am going to go put a coat of candy purple on them to see if they tone down any. I dont want them to pop out so much. I wonder if pearls would do a better job of making a subtle flame. I dont have any experience with them.

I know that if you mix the pearls with intercoat clear you will only be able to see them if the sun hits it just right. A lesson that I was taught was to use intercoat after you get done with each stage so if you mess up you can always go back and sand it off instead of trying to cover it up.

It would be cool if you posted a little video of you painting the flames. I would like to see how it is done.
