How Was Father's Day?

The title says it all; how was your day, Dads?

I got to spend Saturday changing a radiator on Mrs StangDreamin's Ram Quad-Cab in 108*+ temps (cracked a plastic tank Friday evening). The swap in and of itself was actually a piece of cake; just the 17,298 parts runs drove me Nuckin' Futz!
All the parts houses swore up-and-down that they had the correct radiator; they all had database errors! Kept trying to sell me the radiator for a 2001 1500 (and 2002 2500-3500); waaaaayyyy too wide for the layout of the 2002 1500 (and 2003-up bigger Rams). I was pretty doggone tired from the work-week and didn't look at the first one (wrong one) I picked up Friday night - sucker was almost as wide (31-5/8") as the rad in my '02 F-150 (31-7/8"). After that, I started checking around.... everybody could get me the correct radiator in 4-6 working days; but I needed to get Rocky back on the road before today. Finally found one at the Dodge dealer; and -get this- it was less expensive than any of the parts houses!!!

But, Dodge didn't have any hoses???? NAPA had an upper hose, but nobody had a lower hose!
It's summertime in the middle of the Sonora Desert; how can nobody stock a radiator hose for what was the single most popular-selling pickup in this area in 2002-2003?????
I ended up just re-installing the two-year-old hoses instead of "While I'm At It" putting new hoses on the new radiator. Oh, well.

Sunday we had breakfast cooked by Jessie and Matt (Mrs StDr was a little late 'cause she got called in to Recover a patient); and generally lazed around the house watching movies. Today I got to do the same, as I had the day off "as a corporate money-saving matter" because I'm working this-coming Saturday.

All-in-all, it wasn't that bad. And doing the actual work on the truck was kinda fun! :D

Being that it was the first father's day without my dad...it pretty much sucked.

Thankfully my son helped make it better.

Thanks for all the good times and memories Pop!! You are missed!!

On saturday we took our son to the Variety charity "Boat for Hope". It's an annual event for children with disabilties to go out boating and local businesses, police boat officers, Search and Rescue, and volunteers dress as pirates and attack from other boats while on the tour of the harbour and give the kids treasure.

Then yesterday we had rotissierre chicken on the barbecue at my Dad's place.

88gt: I saw your post in in 65fastbackresto's thread; I just haven't figured out how to respond to either post presently up there. I do know, however, what my 29th BD was like, beting exactly 2 weeks after my Dad's death..... Somebody once said "Children are our only true legacy"; my kids have also been my salvation in times like those. :hail2:

krash: That weekend was too cool! :nice:

BDT1967: Yeah, well...... It won't be/hasn't been as well documented as your romantic life and upcoming nuptials over the last couple years; but it looks like there may be another StangNet wedding inside the next year.
I think, maybe, possibly that's the time frame..... nobody's tellin' me nothin' about the exact details yet. :bang:

i got a 65 coupe with a 289 and a kayak, what a combo :D
Great wife

Curtis; on the first line, :nice: :Teh-Win: Especially the kayak. :p

On the second line, maybe you are tied with me for "TEH WIN". :D

On MY so-far-undisclosed third part...... sorry, Dude, you just dropped back to #2; by like 20-50 car-lengths and 7+ seconds.
And the white flag is a-wavin'.

Thanks for the responses in both posts...I don't wish to hyjack either thread...

But, I agree..My son is my true hero in life right now...Not sure of what I have done so right to deserve him, but, I've got him. He causes me loss of sanity at times...but, I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. At least Pop got to see my son play on two All-Star baseball teams that won back to back State Championships...

Yeah, StDr got interesting news for Dad's Day....

Found out that some guy (namely myself) got engaged to his oldest daughter....

And that in January he will officially earn the title "Grandpa"! Yep this year was his last Father's Day as only a Father.

Hopefully all goes well and I'll have me a pit crew in training at the beginning of next year! Although Trish maintains that it has to be a girl...

No offense, AJ, but
DUH!

I hope the Ay-rabs found you more "inscrutable" than I do!

Paid absloutely no attention to that "young and good looking" fantasy of mine, didja? (SHADDUP, FRITZ!)
AJ, don't you have some third-world backwater dictator to blow up?????
Yeahyeahyeah, I know, you're on leave 'til the 6th....:flag:

Sue still maintains it's gonna be TWO!:rlaugh: just to get Trish's goat. Maybe one of each...... :D

EDIT: Since I linked to this page from the Sandhills Mustang Club page; I have to add one more comment!
AJ: If, in the middle of an October night, your "unborn firstborne" twists around in its Mommy's belly, and kicks you in the right kidney hard enough to knock you out of bed; yep, she's a girl - and just like her mother. :rlaugh:

StDR enjoying another fantasy..... SVTCobra306 trading in his M16A2 and M40 for Pampers and Baby Wipes:lol:
Dude, be sure to permanently "check out" a Bio-Chem mask and Air Tank - you're gonna need it.
An Evenflow baby seat (or TWO) in the back of the Cobra :rlaugh::rlaugh::rlaugh:
No more NOS bottles; now it's time for Baby bottles:rlaugh::lol::rlaugh::lol::rlaugh::lol::rlaugh:

I've been waiting since Father's Day to pick on you, Bubba!
