I put my 04 SC 281 on the dyno this past week. The upgrades done are 3:73 gears, 75mm TB, and an off road x-pipe. It put down 304 rwhp and 347 torque with 8.1 lbs boost. I was a little disappointed and thought the hp would be higher. I talked to the shop about getting more power and they advised to go for the pulley, intake, diablo predator chip, and have it dyno tuned and programmed (All for 1100 bucks). If I decide to do all this I will probably go ahead and do the 42 lb injectors. So does anyone have any thoughts on these upgrades or should I just save for a more new blower? I have no idea where to begin with the blowers. I have been reading these threads but am easily confused. THANKS GUYS.

Sounds about right for a fairly stock S281SC. I would also do the Chicane intercooler upgrade.

I love my saleen but I have to say don't waste your time with the blower. You can pick yourself up a used KB 1.7 or 2.1 and have plenty of power for the street for 3K.

Yeah, my old '04 S281-SC coupe with following mods...

Chicane Pulley, Cobra Tank/Pumps, SCT Xcal2 Tune, JLT Intake, SCT BA-2800 MAF, Accufab TB, 42 lb Injectors, 3.73 gears, and Bassani X-Pipe

...only put down 374 rwhp. I was told the intercooler upgrade would put me closer to 400. I could have gone to a slightly smaller Reichard Racing pulley, but I was pushing my luck with the Chicane and running 12 lbs of boost.

It was pretty well maxed out without upgrading to a Kenne Bell or bigger Whipple. I installed most of the mods listed above and spent about $3-3,500 total.

Wasn't happy and decided to sell it and bought a 2004 Cobra.

Good luck in your quest for more power, but don't expect more than 400 rwhp with bolt-on mods.

why do i run 11.9 at 116mph? stock gt exhaust too no race tune no powershifting no chicane intercooler. it takes a combo with these cars. i had one here that i tuned and when we did the chicane intercooler same timing it made 400 to the wheels my dynos at 381 to the wheels y ou do not need a kb blower to run fast.

Sell it and go bigger and better.
It's not worth putting the money into the stock setup.

Disco, your car is certainly quick, but you are also running slicks and 1.6 60fts. And you probably drive pretty well too, that don't hurt.

The average car on stock rims and tires would probably be lucky to get a 1.9. So if you are quicker out of the hole by .3, at the other end of the track you get rewarded with another .3, so you are going to be half a second quicker than most cars based on traction alone.
Your car makes up alot of time with traction, and in all honesty, 381rwhp is only about 20 more hp than an 03 cobra puts down off the showroom floor.
