Wow, its really nice. Easy to load..... if I can do it, anyone can. Also easy to tune back to factory and I was assured it would not be detected.

I step on it and it goes. Shifts way better. It also feels faster than my 01 Cobra. It idles about a hundred rpm higher. I'd better watch out for speeding tkts.

I have it on 89 torque since I do mostly city driving and have never driven past a hundred. I have 89 performance if I want to go faster. (Gas is way over 4 bucks a gallon and the highest octane we have here is 91).

Definitely a mild tune but great for my purposes. I'd recommend it for anyone.

I never spoke personally to Douglas at Bama but we corresponded by email and asked me what things I was looking for in a tune. Among other things, I told him throttle lag was most important and that the car tended to upshift too fast. He set it up so that OD does not kick in till 55 mph.

Someone on this forum mentioned Bama for automatic transmissions because Douglas works extensively with automatics.

His instruction sheet said once its loaded you'll "drive away happy."

My car still doesn't just "go" when I hit the gas. The lag just won't go away for me I guess.

The only time it goes is when I floor it, and even then it takes a second before it realizes I hit the gas.

What octane tunes do you have? my 93 tune makes me bark the tires everytime I start from a stop, needless to say that it became annoying in the city so I am usein a 87. I here that a race tune is not for city driven. :)

I have an 87 tune and a couple of 91 tunes (We don't have 93 octane gas here). I use the 91 since, with the 87 there is almost no difference at all from stock. With the 91 I get a bit more power, but not a lot, and still lag.

ChldsPlay,
I can't say what the tuner difference is in the manuals, but my auto with the Brenspeed tunes are night and day over stock! I ran the 93 tune from last February up until just a few weeks ago when 93 hit $4+! Now I run the 87 tune and it still launches quick/hard and burns the tires hitting second.
I'd say you may have a problem that may require a car checkup:shrug:

Kevin,
  1. What did it do to your gas milage?
  2. Did you add the CIA at the same time or have you been running it previously?
I'm thinking of getting a tune from doug but no cia

Thanks.

For me gas stayed basically the same, MAYBE a slight increase. Once I added a CAI though I had about a 10% decrease in fuel efficiency.

Again, if you have an automatic I highly recommend Bama.
:)

What about if you have a manual?[/QUOTE]

Good question, spectre30075. I've been wondering this too, since every time CAI + tune gets mentioned, it seems to be in conjunction with an automatic tranny. Do the CAI + tune make as much difference with manuals as with automatics? Maybe somebody will speak up.
