351W Lighting Lower & Cobra 5.0 upper??

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Son and I are building a Early Bronco. I have about a 1985 ish 351W (Carbed). I want to fuel inject it. The hood clearence on those are pretty lower, so some of guys run 351 lowers with a 5.0 HO upper. BC Broncos makes an adapter plate for this. Some one told me that the 94-95 light Lowers are the ones to get?? They said a Cobra 5.0 upper would fit on that lower with no adapter plate?? Are the Lighting lowers any higher than a common 351 lower what are the differances? and the 5.0 Cobra uppers any higher than a 5.0 HO upper? What years of Cobra uppers should I get?? How about an Explorer uppper, and what MAS should I use? Just need to find out what will jive together, so we can can start searching for some parts. PS let me know if you have any of these parts, or were i could find them? Are any years of 351W ok to inject? what other parts will I need? Would it be better to get a 351W from a early 90's Bronco/ Truck and swap a cobra upper or can I make me 1985 motor work? Just a little confused. Thank you for any input.

You would want the upper off of a 93 Cobra, the 94-945 Cobra intake is basically the same but the t-body is located differently (which may work for you, i dunno). The Cobra upper will bolt to the Lightning GT40 lower with no adapters, as should a GT40 upper or V-8 Explorer upper. You should be able to convert the '85 engine you have, the newer versions were just equipped with roller cams.

To do the conversion, you would need the corresponding sensors, wiring harnesses, computer, etc.

Maybe this will help...
