98 cobra shifter

can anyone recommend a shifter for a 98 cobra?

im looking for an aftermarket one, is there any difference in them except price? there are some on ebay that are a hella lot cheaper than the others, but for some reason im inclined to go for a hurst.

any input?

I had a Pro 5.0 on my 98 Cobra and liked it very much. I have an MGW on my 03 Cobra which is awesome and it is hands down better. MGW does make a shifter for the 98s though, although I cannot speak on how well it works on a 98 (as they have different trannies than the 03 Cobra). Many people run the Pro 5.0 on the 98s though. Hope this helps.

I have a Steeda in my T45 in my 81 notch. I like it because it is quieter than the MAC that is in my 91 notch T5. All shifters fit the T5 and T45. Both I bought new. I vote for the Steeda.

I haven't had any other brand. The one in my 96 Cobra is an unknown brand, but that thing is quiet too. I think it's a Pro 5.0.

I had a Pro5.0 in my '99 Cobra vert and it was excellent. I have an MGW in my '03 Cobra and it is excellent, too, with the advantage that you can adjust it 360 degrees and raise it or lower it to where you like it.

You can't lose with either one. Both are high quality peices and are very smooth.

:flag::nice:

Another vote for Steeda here. I have one in my LX and liked it so much I replaced the B&M Ripper in my wife's car with another one. After the MCA Grand National show in August, the Saleen will be getting one as it's first mod.

www.latemodelrestoration.com has a deal going where you buy a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter and get a Bullitt shift knob for free. Pretty hard to beat that.
