Greetings,
I need to have front floorpans/unibody and rear frame work done on my '69 but want to take it to someone who's done it before.
The car is by no means a show queen but I want to get the underbody firmed up so I will feel safer driving it (it groans and pops in the rear quite a bit now and the frame is very rough in a few places - read 'very rusted').

Can anybody recommend where to take it in the Detroit area (west suburbs preferred but anything within 30 miles will work)???

THANKS!

OZ, Van Tele Auto Body Inc. Located at 23047 Vanborn Road, Taylor Mi. just west of Telegraph. (313)291-1111. They advertise in the "Cruizin News". I always see a lot of classic cars there in various stages of body repair. They have a good reputation in the area.

Have you tried Harolds Frame Shop on 8 mile? They have a great reputation, but if they cant/wont do it Im sure they could recommend somebody. 313-532-8590 The only other place I know of is Oval Repair. They dont do that kind of work, but might know someone who would. Theyre on Plymouth btwn Middle belt and Inkster. 734-422-6825

EDIT: After re-reading, sounds like you need rust repair. Harolds wont do that, but theyll more than likely straighten the frame if needed and do a good alignment.

Yea, the rest of the car is pretty nice but when it was restored, the previous owner didn't repair the frame and the floors are patched without any welding. Now that I've rebuilt the engine with go fast parts, I am afraid to really get on it for fear of twisting the frame in half.
I just want a competent repair shop to look at it and give me an estimate to make it strong enough to withstand my warmed up 302.

Thanks.
