i have a 80 model i'm wanting 2 do some body mods.. there's nothing wrong with putting the 87-93 body parts on .but i've done that so many times already. so my question is anybody got pics of mild 2 wild body parts'kits mods for the 79-93 . that you don't see every day????

if you do something that is clean its going to look good no matter what, you should mabye try intergrating the four eye theme into like a saleen body kit or something, i think that would be pretty cool... everyone is always so quick to get rid of the four eyes and switch to the 87-93

so YOU'RE the one leading the charge of ruining all the 4-eyed cars

there are *VERY* few I have ever seen done well, one being Project Hack Job (SVT32VDOHC)

how much for the 80? ill buy it off you and hook you up for some cash so you can go out and pick yourself up an aero nose car to start with

i think that 80 with a 79 pace car style air dam or even an 84-86 air dam (ive seen it done) a nice hood, good stance and wheels with the right paint job for an overall clean look will be more unique and far more attractive than anything you can come up with using aero nose and custom/aftermarket body kit style stuff

Picture this:

Stock 80 nose with 82 GT air dam (if hatch, 84-86 nose or air dam only best for notch)
2.5-3" cowl hood
Any and all chrome trim deleted, all window trim done in satin black
headlight buckets and side moldings in satin black
SVO sail panels (if a hatch) or 87-93 quarter windows (hatch or notch)
87-93 GT or 93 Cobra wing (if a hatch - no spoiler if notch)
lowered ~2"
17x8.5 and 17x9.5 ROH ZS wheels (a favorite of mine, subsitiute your favorites here, no larger than 17")
83-86 taillights

I'd put an 85-86 nose on it and call it a day.

I don't understnad the desire to make 4-eyes look like areo cars.

Everytime a clean 4-eye gets posted up on here, all the aero nose guys drool over it. You guys don't know what you have got there!!

If i ever smash the nose of my '88...i'm putting an '86 GT front end on it :)

I want to see more pics of the grey one too.

I always liked the 82 GT look, I found this on eBay a long time ago. If I had extra money lying around I would've bought it.

And I hate rocker panel stripes on 79-04 Mustangs, but it looks darn good on this one for some reason.

Or you could try this... but you didnt hear this from me. http://forums.stangnet.com/749375-lasik-4-eyed-cars.html:hide:

I remember that '82 GT from ebay! It was the 331 stroker right? If not that one looks just like it.

Anyway, for your '80 Mustang, if it's a hatch I'd say put on the Indy Pace car front air dam/bumper cover and buy the Saleen SCC side skirts and rear bumper cover extension from Cervini's cause they match up to the front air dam really nice but aren't over-the-top. Get rid of the taillights and put in some ones from a Capri if you want something a bit off the beaten path of LX taillights but put on an '87-93 LX hatchback spoiler.

If it's a notch see if you can fabricate the grill from the Indy Pace car bumper cover but not the air dam (I like the three bars rather than the egg-crate), put in the Capri taillights, and put on the hood scoop from the '82 GT but actually make it functional, hell make it a shaker.

For both, fill the body lines and peel off/sand-out the door/bumper/body molding that wraps around the whole vehicle or just fill it in, just smooth it out in some way while somehow keeping the nice line that it creates. Put on some 15" five-spokes with some Mickey Thompsons. How do you feel about tires with white lettering?

Then tub it out.

Whatever you do, post pics and let us see what you come up with. I'm also in the market for doing some body mods cause my molding is all warped and needs replacing and you can't get GT side skirts so what I wrote above is just me brain-storming.

Oh yeah there is. It's called ruining a perfectly good four eye.

Four eyes should stay four eyes and aeros should stay aero.

Soon as funds are available, my Capri is going back to four eye.

I'd love to get my hands on some of those SVO rear wheel well flair things on that red car. I also always wanted to fab up an SVO style sail panel for a coupe.

As for the original poster....why not do a tasteful resto-mod? Leave the body bone stock but give it some sick wheels and a "just right" stance. Leave the stock hood on it and don't even tint the windows. Then drop a nasty turbo engine in it and run around with an almost stock looking car that can walk on most anything on the street.

ive been thinking about looking for a 4eye and doing something very similar to this.

Were building an 82 GT for a guy at the shop I work at. Its gonna be black, bone stock body, most likely lowered with Eibachs, 13" Cobra brake kit, 17 inch Pony R's to keep it relatively stock looking. The drive train is gonna be a 351 with a tremec and a 8.8 rear. I just need the guy and my boss to start ordering parts so I can get going on this project!!!!
