Front speaker depth?

Hey guys, I'm about to run an active component system in my 95 and am about to pull the trigger on some ID OEM mids. They have an overall diameter of 6.6 inches and 3.125 mounting depth. The diameter I'm not that worried because it's a little big, I can just trim to fit. The biggest area of concern would be the depth.

For those in the know, will these fit? What's the max mounting depth for our cars anyway?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I think the current speakers are about 2" deep. However, there's a LOT of room behind the speakers to accommodate several inches. The only think I'm not sure of is, does the window frame come down far enough to interfere with a deeper speaker? I don't believe so, but I've never checked that clearance.

Honestly, I don't know if that will fit with the window down. Definitely measure that door. I'm running some Diamond Audio 6.5s mounted to 3/4" MDF baffles and even they are close to the window when it's down.

Uh-oh, I'm not liking the answers here, lol. :(

I pulled out my door panel when I went to replace my power window bushings and I'm kicking myself for not measuring the depth because I knew I wanted new speakers in the future..

Looks like I'll be looking around for something else but if anyone knows for sure, please let me know. Or if someone has their 95 with the door panel currently off, PLEASE, oh PLEASE can you take a measurement for me?

Thanks guys! I'm guess I'm glad I found out now that these might potentially not fit instead of when I tried to install them, ha.

Wait a second. Couldn't I just make a speaker baffle using some MDF? I'm thinking I can but my only concern would be to find out the "max" baffle size that allows a larger depth speaker to fit but still allows the stereo grill to be put back on without the speakers getting in the way.

So what do you guys think now? Yes or no? The ID OEM mids are 6.6" in diameter and have a 3.125" mounting depth. Think I should be good to go if I make some baffles?

Thanks!

Oh, forgot to thank you for the post Sublime. Looks like those component speakers you installed have a 2-5/16" mounting depth. Looks like if the ID OEM mids won't fit in there using a simple spacer, then a baffle might just work. Looks promising! :D
