335s or 315s, help?

Ha he's going to do it in spite - it's proly possible but stupid. Won't help performance, getting a 10.5-11" wheel will - just going for huge tires on a smaller rim wont, ricers have tried it for years.

Im not doing it for performance, come on its a GT:D

Wide meats look sick as hell, very nice on lowered cars. Thats what Im going for the looks!

I could give a s#!t what ricers do, I have a Mustang and want to make it look as good as possible

I've had 335s on my 10.5" wheels before, and the only problem I ran into was the quad shock, which I just unbolted and flipped upside down, problem solved. I had a MAC catback with the 3.5" polished tips, and the tires came REAL close, but never rubbed. I'm not sure about what the 10" rims, but if they can make them fit, that sidewall bulge will be huge like 275s on an 8" rim. They looked right at home on my 10.5s, although I did get a tiny bit of fender rub on severe incline turn-ins.

What tire/wheel combo did you have? Thanks for yuor input

you numb nutt, would you listen to someone
IT IS DANGEROUS to fit a 335 on a 10 inch wheel. If you drive like you've got ballz, get a 315..TOPS.

Yea I hear ya, but the only 315s available are the BFG DRs. They have no thread whatsoever atleast the Nittos are rated 100AA. If only they made the KDWs in 315. Thats what I would get. Thanks

On my last Mustang, I picked up a set of Black Bullitts with DD in the back, and my dad had an old set of Michelin Pilot Sports in 335/35/17 laying around from his old Viper. I had Belle Tire pop them on, and they looked badass. MUCH better looking than the set of Sumitomo 315s I bought after them. I would have bought the Michelins again, but they are ridiculously expensive. I really like it when the sidewall rolls a bit off of the rim lip. I have BFG DR's on my 10.5s in 315, and they roll over a hell of a lot more than my friend's 'Stang with Nitto 315 DR's do.

This thread is weird... People tell the poster its dangerous and a bad idea and he wants to do it more. I can understand you think it will look good, and it might from the back, but when you look at it from the side it will look like crap. Almost like you have a flat tire. And you are really asking for trouble if you take a corner hard or put alot of stress on the sidewall since it most likely provides little support when its that deformed. But I guess if tread life is that important to you...

I'm going to buy the biggest wheels I can find, who cares if it hurts performance and I can't stop correctly, I think 22's look sick as hell on a lowered ride

I'm going to buy the biggest wing I can fit on my car, who cares if it doesn't help performance and I run into problems with the size - I think it looks sick as hell on lowered cars

You do realize that the reason wide as hell tires look good on a muscle car is because subliminally you're thinking - wow that car needs that much rubber to get any type of traction, right?. Tires aren't a visual mod. Now it's your car and you can do what ever you please with it - but I'm surprised to hear you say "I could give a **** about what ricers do" when you're following the same motivations.

I dont want to do it more because of what is being said. I stated in the 1st post that I was going to do 1 or the other!!!!

I was only asking if the rest of the components would be OK.

This car will get 1k miles a year, max. I only really cruise it on Saturdays.

And yes, thread life is important to me, if not, I would get some used tires:shrug:

Is thread life not important to you, you must have it good:nice:

Man walks in to a restaurant, orders a rare steak, asks the waiter what wine would be good with that, the waiter says :dont get the steak, get a salad, its good for you" The man says no I want the steak, but could you help me select a good wine, waiter says " the steak isnt good, its bad for you, eat some green":nice:

Kinda whats going on here

I really appreciate what yall are saying. Its nice that some of yall really sound genuine and want to help. I just dont need any help in the tire dept. If they dont fit, Ill get the 315s simple as that. And yes tires ARE a visual and performance mod. Most guys look at the thread pattern before buying a tire, I know I do

By the way, is funny u mentioned the wing thing. I have the Saleen wing on mine:D

Nothing wrong with the saleen wing. And that anecdote would be more comparable if the man ordered thumb tacks and a coke and the waiter said let's compromise and i'll bring you the coke.

315's is too wide for a 10", 335's is way too wide for a 10". Most of us said 315's - we were putting weight in your opinions as well. If you came in here for simple advice on a tire for a 10" wheel we'd say 295's.

I think the guy wants to know if the tires will hit anything.

Yay, I got a post from the buffet too.

I'll even make it useful. Hey dude, I'm running 305 Nitto's on 18x10.5's. No rubbing. No bulge either. So I imagine you'll have a good bit running the 335's, which is good for protecting the lip of your wheel from curb rash. In the end though, why not just use the 305? The width looks great on my car. And those 335's are gonna slow u down a lot if your not making some serious power.

/end random thoughts

Yea the saleen wing is badass.

IF I came in here asking for tire advice, I would have taken it, but I only need advice in the suspension part.

Thumb tacks??? Thumb tacks would kill you if you swallowed one. Come on, all Im saying is this;

IF ANYONE HAS RUN ANY OF THESE TIRES(315 BFGS 335 NITTOS) WITH A SIMILAR SET UP TO MINE, CAN YOU PLEASE POST RESULTS, PROBLEMS, FIXES, ETC.

Thank you very much:nice:

the 305 nitto is the largest you can safely run and i beleive thats mostly because nittos don't run very wide. I wouldn't be surprised if nitto 305s when measured are only 295. Even the 315 isn't very safe.
Honestly, i don't think any shop will even mount a tire that wide on that rim, way to much liability. You may have to make some friends or go to a small famly owned shop

I think everybody is honestly just trying to help out...
As mentioned above you will definitely want to consider flipping your quad shocks for clearance and maybe rolling the fenders. I know I only have about 1" (maybe less) of clearance by the tailpipes with my 315's (on 17's) and a MAC catback. I am also lowered pretty conservatively with FRPP "C" springs. Good luck.

Thanks man, what size are ur 17s. I have dumps and dont go all the way back so Im cool there

The BFGs 315s and the Nittos 335s are the same width, Ive seen them in person. I didnt see them mounted but next to each other they look identical. The guy who had them put on decided to go with BFGs for traction at the track, but my car will never see track time, its just a cruiser.

315's will fit on an 8" wheel(not my car:nice:)

Woah thats alot of bulge. I wouldnt even cosider 315s if my wheels were 9" wide, but I know 10s OK.

Thanks, what Ive gathered so far is to definetaly;

Roll fenders
Dumps
flip,remove quad shocks

Thanks for the info, and maybe Ill just stick to 315s, once Im there Ill decide. If for any reason I dont like the BFGs Im going with the Nittos. Well see, thanks:nice:
