I have a 2000 mustang convertable. I was cleaning it and somehow broke the plastic cover that moves with the gearshift and also moves the red indicator that shows what gear it's in. :( Has anyone else had to fix one of these? If so, could you let me know how to go about fixing / replacing mine... Thanks in advance guys.

Junkyard.

The only other option is the dealer, and they'll probably only sell you a whole assembly of some kind with a lot of parts you don't need. The only way to get small obscure parts like that is to find them at a junkyard.

Thanks Skymarshal, ended up getting the part at the dealer for $35. Not too bad I guess but I'm sure a junkyard would have been cheaper. Installation wasn't too hard. Didn't really know what I was doing so I took it slow but got er done eventually.
