What radiator are you running with your DCC Controllers?

I am looking for a set-up that will suffice on a 10:1-11:1 347/363.5" N/A engine.

What radiator do you guys have with your DCC Controllers?

Let me know the cooling ability, and the fitment issues (no BS!).

Pictures would be great. :)

I run the 31x19" Griffin universal with a FAL VSC controller, similar to the DCC. Works great. The radiator is not a direct fit and requires some 'finessing' to install as it is literally the largest size you can squeeze into the fox chassis. However the benefit is that it is pretty inexpensive compared to some of the specific-fit Mustang radiators. My engine is stock however I'm sure it will cool your motor just fine as I've seen others running the same setup on built engines without issues.

I do not have a dc controller but the pep boys/autozone 3 core 'max cool' lifetime warranty radiator cools my 11:1 347 pump gas streeter just fine alog with a 94/95 Mustang electric fan.

David, are you talking about what fan is run with the controller? And then what rad is used (for overall combo evaluation)?
Or do you just want fan and radiator fitment info?

I'd say let's add what max operating temps are reached for a given ambient temp. A combo that works well in 90* max ambient temps isnt going to do so well in 115*F temps. It gets hot out your way. :)

What I can tell ya is that the 94-95 GT fans and 3.8L Taurus fan I have are very comparable. And both start to get phase shifted when it gets to be about 100*F outside (and the condenser is dumping heat into the radiator). At this point, I go from my target temp (188*F) to operating at about 100*F over ambient. E.g., if it's 110*F outside, I run at about 210*F while in trafffic (and cooler while at speed).

If you can find one (prices went way up), the Viper fan is awesome! Knowing what I do now and having had to screw around with different fans, I wish I'd have scored one of those some years back.

Good luck bud!

I should have been more clear. I was planning on going with a fan/controller combination from Brian, per his recommendation, but I was wanting to know what a good fitting radiator would be a good match and be able to "bolt-up" the fans he sales.

I used to have a Griffin 31x19 (universal "oval track" style) radiator and it cooled AWESOME. However, the problem was that there was no place to bolt up a fan or be able to slide the fan "zipties" through the radiator fins.

I understand it is warm out your way as well. ;) It hit 103.9 today with some awful humidity.

That makes a lot of sense. I am just looking for top-notch reliability. I am tired of owning 5.0L's and always catch myself looking at the temp. gauge. I never have to on my 1998.

Is this the fan you are talking about JT?

I found some nice links:

http://www.geocities.com/skiboyracing/viperfan.html

" On low speed the fan will do 3000 cfms and pulls about 25 amps and drops to 8 amps once up to speed.. On high speed the fan will do 4000 cfms and pull about 30 amps and drop to 11 amps once up to speed. The fan is only 25.5" wide, 17.5" tall, and the thickest part of the fan is 4.5" thick and uses 17" blades."

Part Number 04854720AA ?????

Thanks for the advise, everyone!
