My radio is stuck...

So I'm trying to take out the factory Mach 460 head unit in my 2000 GT. I got the tool and removed the cd player no problem. When trying to take out the head unit, I pushed the tool too far into the holes on the left side and i heard a little crack noise. Now I can't feel the spring with the tool, and it easily slides in almost all the way (too far) So now I'm stuck. I was thinking of trying to get in there through the cd player opening with a dremel tool to cut off the white rail thing, I don't know.
My ultimate goal is to remove the center console.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Your only suppose to move the tools in until you start feeling resistance. Put them both in and wiggle one side out a smidge then the other and it should slide out. It just takes a little bit of loving. What are your plans for the mach headunit, im looking for one.

If wiggling the tool doesn't work out for you, what you can do is take the shifter bezel off, remove the two 8mm screws, and take off the dash bezel. Then the radio should slide out or move out enough for you to work the broken side out. :nice:

Thanks for the help guys, yea I know I'm not supposed to push it in that far but I was trying to get it inside the clip and gave it a whack to go in and it went too far. I have a feeling I bent the clip prongs or something. I'll try taking the dash bezel off, but are you talking about the 2 Torx-20 screws right above the cd player?

98E9GT, I'm holding on to the mach headunit, sorry.
