Hey guys. So i made a whole new tune for my car (tweecer) yesterday. Previous to loading this tune i had no check engine light and code 11( system pass) for all tests.

I cranked it over last night and i got a CE light immediately. Code 67? Something about clutch safety switch...or the A/C being on? The A/C wasn't on...so i know it wasn't that.

What does this code 67 mean? Never had it before?

Thanks in advance.

Code 67 means two things.

KOEO and CM code 67 means there is a problem with the Nuetral Safety Circuit. I beleive this is the sensor on the transmission on the top cover which senses nuetral and allows the computer to dump codes. Without it in neutral or connected, i beleive you get this code.

KOER code 67 refers to the A/C being on during the test.

Code 67 - clutch not depressed (5 speed) or car not in neutral or park (auto) or A/C in On position when codes
where dumped. Possible neutral safety switch or wiring problem. This code may prevent you from running the Key On
Engine On tests. You can generally ignore this code, since it has no effect on engine performance.

The computer wants to make sure the A/C is off due to the added load on the engine for the engine running tests. It also
checks to see that the transmission is in Neutral or the clutch depressed (T5, T56, Tremec 3550 & TKO)). This prevents
the diagnostics from being run when the car is driven. Key On Engine Running test mode takes the throttle control away
from the driver for several tests. This could prove hazardous if the computer was jumpered into test mode and then driven.

The NSS code 67 can be bypassed for testing. You will need to temporarily ground computer pin 30 to the chassis.
Computer pin 30 uses a Lt blue/yellow wire. Remove the passenger side kick panel and then remove the plastic cover from
the computer wiring connector. Use a safety pin to probe the connector from the rear. Jumper the safety pin to the
ground near the computer.
Be sure to remove the jumper BEFORE attempting to drive the car!!!

Thank you for the information. I did not have the clutch depressed while doing any of the tests? I dont remember having to depress the clutch...

Code 67 came up in both KOEO and KOER. I know the AC wasnt on...so it must have something to do with that wiring on the trans case. I will jack her up and check this weekend.

Now...other codes came up during both tests. All for EGR and Air Injection issues. (Apparently i forgot to turn those systems off in the new tune...Easy fix).

So apparently the code 67 still allows the diagnostic tests to run and spit out codes. I will run the tests again with the pedal depressed and see if anything different happens.

Thanks for the info.

Ah ha....

No i did not set the checksum base address to 0.

I knew i forgot something. You know the funny thing is that i know i set the rev limiter to 5500. And On my way to work this morning i romped on it in first. Of course the tires spun immediately...the revs flew up to 6k. So the rev limiter didn't take effect. Its strange because all the start up fuel conditions were bang on...as were the injectors slopes, idle settings, and MAF transfer. I dont know why the Air injection, EGR, and Rev limiter didn't work as they should have. The EGR is what caused the CE light...not the others.

What exactly does the checksum base address do? Thanks in advance.

It "tells the ECM" to bypass the OEM tune ROM since the new parameters will be located in another device through the test port, it allows the ECM to use the new device w/out generating a ROM failure.
