Hey guys, weird problem I'm having with my turn signals. In 2 years of owning the car, never touched them and never had any issues. About a month ago, they stopped working. When the left signal is engaged, no response in the front of the car, and the left rear light brightens but doesn't flash. When the right signal is engaged, the right front light brightens but doesn't flash and no response from the rear. Reasons and fixes for this? Faulty flasher? Loose connection? Appreciate all help, thx

Im not sure on the years but my mustang has a 2 element bulb on for tail lights the other is shared by the blinker and brakes. if they are the same its probably not going to be a bad bulb due to the fact that the chances all 4 went out at the same time. Do you hear the click when the blinkers are engaged? If so then its probably not your flasher that is messed up. Probably not a wire for the same reason as the bulb, but it could be.

First thing you should do is get a diagram of the layout of your system from a manual. There is probably a connector for the wires coming out of your steering column. Use the manual to see what color wires go to what. Take a test light and see if you have correct power for each wire. You might find that the flasher wires are not getting power and you will need to replace the turn signal switch. If this is the case, replace the whole thing not just the cam. I ended up making a problem worse by trying to replace just the cam.

No clicking noise when turn signal engaged, and light in the dash doesn't blink. I disregarded the possibility of a bad bulb for the same reasons you mentioned. I'll check the wire and the switch. Any other ideas?
