Parts you regret buying?

Just curious, has anybody bought aftermarket performance parts that, for whatever reason, are crap? Parts that are not on your car and that you wish you had not wasted your money on?

I don't think I've seen a thread about this, at least not in a long time. I thought it might be interesting, and maybe helpful to the newbsters prowling about.
:D

I'll start with a Densecharger air intake tube I bought a long time ago. It didn't fit my stock tb well, so it's been in the garage for years now, collecting dust.

:flag:

densecharger air intake is junk imo, i had the same setup and nothing fit right it seemed, let me see....

'cam' 3 bolt cc plates, bushing went out after 1 week...

The most worthless thing I ever bought for my car was a used chrome CAI...that thing got so freakin' hot it was ridiculous...:nonono:

I also have to say my timing adjuster--now don't get me wrong, it helped the car out, but later on when I got my SCT tuner it became useless. On the other hand, I bought the adjuster WAY back around the year 2000 before tuners were as common for our cars. It is actually still installed and set back to base since I have been too lazy to pull it off...

The shop who install my cams maybe didn't install right:shrug:

Vegas has some very reputable tuners. Who did your tune?

On topic: For me, it was my Kumho's. They're a good enough tire, but the wrong choice for my application.

Other than that, I'm pretty calculating, so no complaints. Like now, I'm spent a few months thinking about adding some UPR dress to the interior but I'm hoping I don't over do it and pimp it out. :nono:

the mahle pistons are very hard material and do not stand up to detonation very well at all!

you would be surprised how fast you get used to power. my car feels like a very tame street car to me. it will hook 1st gear from a roll and never even think about spinning in 2nd (this is with MT's out back)
honestly i want to have a 110 oct and 125 shot tune to run on the road. you would think 600's on pump gas would be one of the faster cars around but it is really not in my area. there are 800-1000 hp street cars everywhere you turn!

i would like to see 815 to the wheels on race gas and spray. that would beat the current record for the highest HP 2V at the shop.

:nonono::nonono::nonono:

i dont know why i cheaped out on the pistons................$300 more and i would be over 800 to the wheels already:(

oh well,theres always time for a TT 4V build!!
I used to be stationed in Actionville (jacksonville) NC and i know about Fastlane. They are a badass shop. I've been to their website a few times and they build some freaking monsters. It's too bad i never got a chance to get my car up there.

For me i regret buying the piggyback pullies. Now i haven't had a problem yet (knocks on wood) but i wish i would have gotten the steeda's. I also regret buying the Zex nitrous. I got it off a buddy for like 270 so i figured what the heck. Now i'm just saving for the NX plate kit.
I also regret NOT buying a install/bearing kit when i installed my gears. Now i'm in the process of buying all the parts needed to completely build my rearend:nonono:
