Roller followers on stock cam

Would this be about the same as adding a ranger cam to my tc. I have complete 2.0 out of an early 80s ranger. For some reason it has roller followers and what looks like a new cam. I'm not sure if its stock or not, but will it work

i cant really remember exactly but i do know that there where rangers in the 80's that had roller cams. the rangers got the roller cams be for the 2.3 mustangs did if i remember correctly. anyway if your looking to put it in the 88 turbocoupe engine (im pretty sure they had rollers) it should work but your stock cam is actualy better. the only reason 2.3t guys switch to ranger cams is for the whole roller cam set up. as far as i know its not much of a proformance gain if any other then the fact that it reduces friction. if you have a roller set up already i wouldnt bother. if you dont or you just want to expariment go ahead.

Don't run roller followers with the stock cam...it's not made for them.

Also a Ranger Cam isn't really worth the swap unless you want a roller cam. I did that for awhile in my TC, then upgraded to an A237 and never looked back.

If your 2.0 has a roller cam, somebody probably put a cam from a newer Ranger in it. 2.0's in Rangers were just debored 2.3's.
