Low fuel pressure - replaced filter/regulator

When I put the car in storage last fall the car ran fine. I wasn't able to put stabil in it right away, but I did a couple months later. So the gas might have went a little bad, but I can't see it going that bad.

The car runs at about 20 psi at idle and doesn't really change when I remove the vacuum from the regulator. I've replaced the filter and the regulator. I guess my next move is to replace the pump?

How about changing the fuel filter?
I guess you could clean the filter and than see if pressure changes!
Also depending on you fuel pump you could run the fuel into a cannister for 30 seconds and than measure the output of how much the Fuel pump flows per hour.
This is one way to check what your are putting out in fuel. That is a 2 man job, though!!

Be sure the pump is getting 12 volts and the wiring is uncompromised. Packrats like to eat crap like that.

I can generally get to the wiring with the tank in place. YMMV.

Your Mileage May Vary. In other words, your car might be a little different. Some guys say they have to drop the tank a little bit to really reach the plug.

same issue in Camaro SS

I seem to be having the same issue with my 96 Camaro SS. I generally put about 150... yes 150 miles on it each year.

I am curious to see what the problem/solution is. At least it could give me a starting point. I changed the pump a few years ago and installed a Walbro 255. I ordered a Racetronix/Walbro 255 from Thunder Racing about three weeks ago, but was told they are backordered. Also, Hurricane season is putting a real damper on even getting in touch with the folks at Thunder Racing.

Thanks guys... put in a new fuel pump today and everything is back to normal.

I got my fuel pump from ERZperformance.com for $100 shipped and it came in about 4 days.

ps. Lesson learned: Make sure to put in fuel stabilizer is put in an empty tank and fill with new fuel and run for awhile to get it all circulated before putting in storage for the winter.

Alternative: Change fuel pump once a year.. :nothanks:
