Went to Atco last night...

The 3 runs I got in took over 6 hours! ..man I'm slow! :rlaugh:

Some pics:

Couldn't hook for S:eek:t Even with the CHE LCA's she was wheel hopping bad! :nonono:

The best I could muster was a pair of 13.6s @ 103-104mph and a 13.7 @ 105. <---Why the hell would the slowest run have the fastest mph?

The reason why you get more MPH on a slower ET is because of traction. Some where between the starting line and finish line your tires spun a little bit. Compare your 60ft times and that's usually where you will find you had tire spin. The wheel hop will cause traction issues.

Any way when your tires spin it seems to give you more mph in the end. Thats what I have figured out at least.

Knocked off two more 13.4's @ 105 & 106mph!

I swear my last run should of been alot lower... I nailed the launch and hit every gear just right, but Atco was having issues with their tree / timing equipment all night so I'll never know... :bang:

*I'll post up the time slips after lunch.

I cannot really say how good the track is at Etown. The only vehicle I've ever ran there was my old F150 FX4 with 33's! ...so needless to say, traction was not an issue. :rlaugh:

Go get yourself a stock rear rim, get some real drag slicks require tubing and screwing them to the rims and go knock down a mid 12 second pass. NO BS.

You're wasting time on those rim/tire combo. They maybe great for carving corners, but obviously they are severely handicapping your 1/4 mile time.

I ran that exact same as you did spinning tires on my notch and only netting a mid 13 at 105.90. This was with a 3.08 gear and shorty headers.

Next season I came out on a 3.55 gear, 27 inch boot, and long tubes and ran a 12.501 @ 109mph with what I considered to be a lousy 1.771 60ft. I too was previously only getting a very boring 2.2 60 ft.

Seriously, take the big SVT street rims off the back and run a boot. Getting down to business means no excuses allowed.

Atco is prepped pretty well. I like it, i've only been there on hot days really. The best ET on street tires I could pull was a 13.7@101 with a ****ty tune for an automatic (shifts too late). Cut a 2.04 60' on street tires though.

Drag radials FTW.
