HOLY COW this was a fast car!!

03/04 Cobra's are badass cars, but ride in a Fox body with 500rwhp.... Thats impressive!!! Power to weight ratio FTW!!!
I love both the foxes and the sn95s and my Cobra has way more hp and handles beter than my fox GT, but the "raw" feeling of a modded 5.0 in a fox still gets my heart "racing". They are two completely different animals.

i'm heading for you now!!! :D
just bought some Billetflow shiny stuff

Hub and 2 nonslip pulleys, 3.10 and 2.76 in redfire
4pc idler pulley 3-100mm and 1-92mm w/tensioner

And the Cody inspired self ported m112 beside me :D

NOW, i got to get it all put on and save up for some bamachips tuning sessions @ $300hr :(

Yeah that would be impressive too, but it takes quite a bit of weight reduction to get in Fox territory...

My 91 Notch weighs 2,995lbs & the only weight reduction was aluminum heads, ac delete, & smog pump delete.... Imagine if I took out the rear seat, passenger seat, sound deadening, slicks & skinnys, & installed a fiberglass hood....

My buddies 88 notch only has 360rwhp N/A, & his car runs dead even with 460rwhp Cobras on the street. @ the track, he absolutely murders them...

Dont get me wrong though, 03/04 Cobras are sweet cars, & they ARE fast, but the curb weight & IRS is there downside IMO... One of the quickest ported eaton powered Cobras in my hometown could only manage a best of 11.0 with 500rwhp on motor & a 100 shot on top of that..The guy could drive & the thing too & has a SRA swap....Its the weight that kills it....

Epik is right about the power to weight ratio. My cousins coupe is the one he's talking about. His coupe weighs around 2925 or so in street trim. My Cobra is 3610 in street trim. His coupe made 362 hp and 383 tq on motor. My '03 Cobra made 450/454. From 2nd gear rolls on the street he would jump out a bumper on me, then through 3rd we were even, and I would barely pull a bumper back on him when he would have to shut down at the top of his 4th. We can both drive also...Also The other Cobra Epik is talking about with the ported blower made 510 RWHP, then he had a 100 shot on top of that. When I put my S-Trim back on my Fox earlier this year, The Cobra owner called me out to run him from a roll. My fox weighs around 3100 in street trim, his Cobra had a SRA swap so he was probably around 3525 or so. We went from a 2nd gear roll, and as soon as I hit the top of 2nd I was 1 car out. Then through 3rd and 4th I put another 1 1/2 cars. We ran twice with the exact same results. Not sure of my RWHP #'s as I've never had it on a dyno but at that time my Fox was trapping 132-133 in the 1/4. Like Epik said power to weight FTW :flag:

DAMN IT epik, i have been going back and forth trying to figure out if i want to mod a fox body or buy a cobra!! the more you talk about how cool they are i get confused about what i want again lol, especially when i see ur white notch lx, thats exactly what id buy if i could find one, hhhmmmm i need to think more now, but damn that cobra was awesome, but i would like the raw power of a 5.0

I wish I had the tools/skill/time to port mine :(

Anyway, OP: Yeah, Foxes are a freakin blast! Easy to work on and to modify :nice: If you want a stip car then the Fox is prolly the better choice. If you want a street toy that handles killer then get the Cobra. It will be way more civilized on the street and the IRS allows for some impressive handling charechteristics (sp?). :nice: They both have ups and downs  A Fox you will have to get into the lower end if you wana push over 400 rwhp and the Termi you wouldnt.
By the time you have a Fox that has 500+ rwhp and good brakes with all the drive train mods to handle it then you are at about the same cost as a used Termi with a twin screw that would make more HP and be more reliable

Why not....

Given that you have a '99 I assume it's paid for or very close to being paid for...

why not mod it?
Aluminator supercharged shortblock $4300
Patriot Stage 2 heads $1500 ish
12psi Kenne Bell w/fuel parts $4500
TKO 600 $1900
Clutch $400
misc $1400
That totals $14000

if you sold your car you'd get $6kish....clean termis are going for $21k-23k out here with out any/if many mods...

just saying....

i guess the reason is i wana keep my 99 as a DD and buy a cobra for fun weekend and drag strip driving, the thing im afraid of is if i get hit and my cars totaled the stuff i mod like a motor or supercharger could be destroyed and insurance will only buy me a new 99 with nothing, since a cobra factory supercharged and someone hits me and totals that i get another cobra with same supercharged engine, kinda my mindset

Thats a fart smeller there :nice:

ill tell you, i have the hp but the cobras make all the torque.

i still cant even use all my power until next spring when i get the tuning better worked out. i feel some of it.............and it feels real good!

i hammer the gas but only take it to 5000rpm. so i get a good feel but there is a lot left in it to 6500rpm.
