Unlike Bigfoot, BBF and 5-speed DO exist!

This is the original transmission crossmember being used with the big block and TKO600 5-speed. The bolts are slightly farther back, but there is still some room left over in the slots. There are two positions on the K-member and I used the forward slots on the engine mount brackets. I'm not sure the engine would clear the firewall if I used the rearward slot on the mount brackets.

I have to admit, if I had done this before I would have used a hydraulic clutch setup because then you can use a standard toploader bellhousing instead of getting a special one that allows the use of a clutch cable. Also, a hydro setup would mount behind the fork so clearance wouldnt be an issue with the headers. I'd suggest a hydraulic clutch over the cable. With the price of the aftermarket clutch cable I'm sure the hydraulic setup would have cost the same, maybe even cheaper because you could get a cheaper bellhousing.

Actually, I've been looking and I can't find any hydro setups for these cars. I'm actually surprised. I did find a site where Cobra kit car guys who use fox body clutch setups convert to hydraulic but it requires fabbing up the under dash linkage.

Are the pics still working for you all? They don't show when I look at the thread. Also, sorry I havent posted anything lately. I've been busy finishing up this exhaust. Its all mocked up, and I've been finishing the welding. I'll have it all done this weekend.
I've also ordered and received the battle box kit, and I'll be showing that installation also. Can anyone recommend a good image hosting site?
