I picked up the car yesterday from HFR Fabrication with the help of Troy (yeahloh95). I had Henry at HFR install a 6pt chrome-moly roll bar in my 'vert so that I'll be legal next time I head to the track. His work is second to none. I can be pretty picky at times, but I couldn't be happier with the results. The swing out clevis's are from Chris Alston Chassis Works. Check out these welds!!! I'll be painting it soon but I wanted to get some pics before I covered up the welds with paint. I plan to get some more tomorrow in the daylight.

Thanks everyone. To be NHRA legal, the bar had to be TIG welded as its chrome-moly. Rear seat access is all but gone, and really it isn't safe back there anymore for passengers due to the way I wanted the bar to be ran... if you were in the back the bar would be right beside your head. I plan to either paint it black or try a trick that Henry told me which was to take a scotch bright pad with some WD40 on it and hit the entire bar with it. It'd give it a brushed aluminum look, I just don't know if I want to mess with the upkeep and mess that would come along with it.
Getting in and out is a breeze and once seated you don't even know the bar is there as not one part of my body touches it, including the door bars. I will be removing the door bars for all but race days, that is why i had the little kicker bars run inside along the door sill. I wanted to tie the main hoop and the front part of the swing out together even when the swing out bar was removed.

Here's a few more pics:

Paul,

Have you thought about an airbag disable switch for the pass airbag so that you can still cruise with a child in the front seat. If you want details let me know as I just did this a few months ago... :D

Hey Paul, I have seen the wd40 and scotch brite look, A friend of mine did that to his bar in his viper, He was able to remove it and get it clear powder coated after, it looks great and is very easy to clean. Or you could just hit it with a couple coats of clearcoat. Just a couple thoughts, looks great man.
