Mustang Madness??????

Hey guys, I was really disappointed that I couldn't make it to Mustang Madness at MAM this year but I was still looking forward to hearing how it went. After that weekend the thread just disappeared. Did ANYONE go? Was it a graveyard with just Khyron and Timeless dukin' it out by themselves? How about a track day report?

Yep, unfortunately, no one ended up showing up. It was those 2, I believe. Fuel prices, cost of attendance, and lack of advertising really did a number on the event. If we try it again, we'll have to advertise and see what can be done about the cost.

Well, I thought the cost was pretty good for a weekend at the road course. I pay $95 a day at Hallet so $200 for the weekend was fine. I think travel costs were the big one for everybody but there's nothing we can do about that.

I REALLY wanted to attend but I just had too many things going on with starting a new job and all. I'm afraid that if the attendance was really low that there won't be an event at all next year. I've gotten tired of the Shelby meet in Tulsa every June. Too little track time with too many people who are in the way. If there's a Mustang Madness next year I'll do it instead of the Shelby meet. I just hope that my failure to show didn't contribute to killing it for good.

Yup, it was just Timeless and me out there. It definitely would have been cool to have more people out there, however, having a private track was pretty darn awesome I must say. Since it was just the two of us, they were letting us run 50 minute sessions, instead of the normal 20 minutes. That was a total blast! However, 50 minutes out there was a bit much on the brakes. When I came in after my final session, there was *literally* smoke coming off of my front rotors!!

I felt bad for the MAM folks only having two of us show up, but I tip my hat off to them for sticking to their word and still having the event.

*****!!!!!!! Any word on a event next year? I called and cancelled a week before the event and they said it was no big deal but I'm guessing that that was the mood before they knew what was going down.
