Key wont come out in 72

im just getting my 72 mach put back together I pushed it out of the garage yesterday and now I cant get the key out of the ign. its stuck in the "on" position. I was doing some wiring under the dash but, i didnt mess with the ign switch, i must have bumped something any ideas? thanks !

There is a rod that come from the key switch and runs down the side of the column to the electrical ignition switch, maybe you got a wire jamed in it

Hi v8xploder I ran into the same problem on a chums 73 mustang.......it turned out to be the collar just below the steering wheel had turned slightly (on the steering column itself) not allowing key rod to return and let ignition turn back to off position collar set screws came loose over time.................something to look at anyway ..............I hope this helps you out

Had the same problem here. Rotating that collar worked for me!!
