Well... i think after 190k miles, my 1998 GT died. Albeit it is my fault because im sure if i hadnt pushed it really hard when the engine didnt have oil left in it, and then running 4 months on a knocking connecting rod.... anyway monday while at work it seized on me 1 min after it started doing a weird clacking at the low rpm. so bleh!

Same night went to see a 2003 GT, and it's in my parking lot now =) im just a bit sad that i didnt wait to see it during the day, there's 2 little thing about it that annoys me. the driver seats on the side there's quite a bit of wear on the leather, probably due to the seat belt, and the housing for the hand break is all torn apart. that i can prolly get at a scrappy for pretty cheap. Also i believe the bezel didnt come factory silver but thats ok it kinda looks good, maybe if i put billet knob for ac and the 3 button at the button would make it more nice.

The car as 60k miles so less then 1/3 what the other had. And i dealed a 2 years warranty in the deal, car has all its history at ford previous owner did it all there.

At the same time would anyone know on the mach 460 (6 cd changer not the mp3) there's a mute/hang up button. I highly doubt those car where equipt with bluetooth back then, but is there any kind of hookup for phones or?

now, lets see what everyone opinion on what i do with the dead car.

a) keep for parts
b) fix it myself and sell it
c) take it apart and sell the parts
d) sell it as is.... probably a big waste
e) fix it and use as a winter beater

was a VGA car i bought 5 years ago that i had repaired the body myself so the paint is meh.

ok enough, sorry for the long post

The mute button is just for muting the music. For me with the volume on/off button being closer its easier to hit that big button than the stupid mute.

As for the bezel, not sure if it came that way either. But I do think it was an upgrade package, I know my car has it but I bought mine used too.

As for the 98, if you have the time and ability fix it and then sell it.

Turn the 98 into a street/strip car. That's what I did to the 88 when I got the 97. :D

If not, then part it out and sell me the 8.8 rear end for cheap so I can throw it in my 88 2.3 mustang. I'm pretty sure 7.5s were NOT meant to run 12s and I'm about to go a LOT deeper into the 12s with a bit of spray. :spot:

Yeah, fixing it seems the way to go, then if i get a good price on it sell it otherwise keep it i guess.

turning it for parts for myself isnt worth it since i took the warranty from ford for 2 years.

Yeah i found an engine for $1100CAD with less then 60k miles on. i could drop that in. or might open it and see if i can just replace the connecting rod, depending on the extant of the damage.

But right now i love the new car, just went again on the road and its so smooth. i miss the throatier(sp?) sound of my 98 (flowmaster and hollowed cat) though.

oh well all in due time
