And why were you doing that again? Not only is that a danger to yourself, if you lose control or get a flat, you put other innocent people at risk. No offense, but if you think your cars fast take it to the track. :Track:

the reason i was doing that is because i wanted to see if it was like my two other buddys....and if no one will help me i will use my other site...:OT:so you never tried to see what you car had before you embarass yourself at the track??? its the highway its not like im doing in town where somone can pull out infront of you and then you t-bone them..now thats not smart to do but i belive the highway is a safer! and it was 12 in the morning w/ no traffic..my car isnt running right for now but i cant wait to get it running:jaw:

**** happens... Hes not the only one who has been a bone head...

I went a tick over 200 on the hwy in my vette.. oh well... I went 190mph on the hwy on a hayabusa... /cry

If the guy didn't hit anyone, and was doing it late at night on a stretch of highway with no entrance ramps and no traffic, I dont see a problem with it.

Most of us have topped out our cars on the hwy at some point, if you havn't.. you should try it IMO..
....

Street racing has been around as long as cars have.. Its not going anywhere no matter how much you try to beat the guy up for it

While I'm a new member to the site... A lot of you guys seem to have had something crawled up you ass and died (probably been there a long time too)

/rant_off ... and by hwy, i bet he really ment abandoned air strip

So back to your issue... The car wont run at all? Have you checked for codes??

ya i know...my other web site no1 was telling me what to do...it seems like something died it their ass for real....like no1 has every done that on the highway....lol just me and you i guess

well it runs...but it kinda bogs for a sec and then in the rmps it starts to go but as soon as i hit 3500 it starts cutting out and wont let me shift past 3500...just like a rev limitor but its for my rpms....but if i push the gas in and let them go up slowly then my buddy got them to 5000 and then backed out...he said cam was looping...? does that sound right? when i'm in the rain and drifting it sometimes lets me take it to 4500...seems like it has a mind of its own

i've done some nonsense myself dude but dont be drifting in the rain n tryin to top it out on the highway.
As far as the safety on the highway, there are some ppl here on stangnet who are not ur average mom n dad preachers telling you what to n what not to do because they feel like it, they are really telling you so you can be safe and because they really do have a whole lot more experience than me n you . BTW im a young knuckle head too so i know how you feel. So dont take these ppls responses to heart as if they r tryin to do you harm n put you down, rather yet take it as advice from the more experienced.

PS - I had a back tire explode on me last summer at ~60mph and the car did a 180 before i knew it. LUCKILY it was late at night and no one was around and i changed the tire n went home ok, but seriously, if you feel the need to punch it, take it to the track. ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY although it might not seem like it when u gotta spend the 20-30 to run.

As far as the car seizing on you, cam sounds just about right.
Heres a chance to upgrade the HCI !!!!

Welcome to the site, sandmridergt. I want to take a moment, just to let you know that street racing threads, or threads of that nature aren't welcome on this site, just so you're aware. No need for me to go over the reasons why, I believe it's been covered.

Alright, now on to the issue you're having. Do you have any codes? That's usually a good place to start. If you backfired through the intake for whatever reason, you may want to take a look at your mass air meter, since the elements are somewhat fragile, and an explosion in the intake could have damaged them. If your car is stock, you can safely unplug the meter and take the car for a drive, to see if that rules out the MAF, if the codes check out. I had a MAF go bad years back and these symptoms are similar to what I had experienced, minus the 130+ MPH run on the highway, of course. :p
