Need some help with the following problem. 1965 mustang 289 c.i.d. power drum brakes single bowl master cylinder.
Checked out car before putting back on road after sitting for a while and found leakey wheel cyl's
replaced all for wheel cyl, front pads, new hardware ( spring kits ) all wheels, , blew out all lines , disassambled and cleaned m/c used silicon brake fluid and bled lines
Problem is car pulls severley left when brakes are applied, tracks staight and no pull driving down road.
car was put back on jackstands and all for wheels and drums removed --- every thing looked o.k. primary and secondary shoes correct position, lines where checked for kinks, none found, brakes re-bled
Problem exactly the same car put back on jacks brakes disassembled--front wheel cyl checked (both sides same diam) front drums and wheel bearings switched left to right, brakes bled again---- same exact problem
I dont think the junction block by the master has a residual valve but i,m not certain, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adjust the drums, one side seems to be tighter than the other. The tool looks like this

Just adjust the shoes until it has a slight drag and you should be good. As for the tracking, get your wheels aligned. After I had it done to my car it helped, but it returned soon because my suspension is original (plan to replace it soon).

check the lower control arm bushings to start. next check the adjustment not only on the fronts, but the rears too. third recognize that due to the single bowl master cylinder you are always going to have problems with the brakes pulling to one side no matter what you do. i had the same issue with my mustang, and my falcon. when i swapped to a dual bowl master cylinder that problem virtually went away. the falcon still has a minor pull but nothing annoying.
