67 transmission help

what should i put in a 302 1967 mustang for a transmission idk what to put in somebody told me to put in a t-5 but im not sure if it will hold down the power or not and i didnt know if their were any good transmissions that would fit just as easy as the t-5 that were cheaper or better any good bargain transmissions?? i want to stick with a 5-speed but i didnt know if the tr3550 or any others would work im at a loss

An T-5 will likely be the cheapest 5 speed, unless you fall onto a better deal on something stronger. Take your time to hunt, and you could very possibly do better than a T-5.

But what is a good transmission alternate to the t5 that can be easily be put in to a 67 stang?

you could go toploader, but they'll be more expensive/harder to find and is only a 4 speed.

You could go for the 3 speed toploader with the 4th as overdrive

Tremec 5 speed and the old Doug Nash 5 speed are the only other two I can think of offhand.
