Am I asking too much?

I've had 100 people look at my car on ebay but no bids. Do I have it overpriced?

Black 1994 Mustang GT 5 Speed, 347 Stroker engine – 420hp! This 5.7 liter engine has only 4K miles on it and was built by Tachyon Automotive with only the best parts (see below). It was dyno tuned to 420hp by Dynotune Performance. The car chassis has 140K miles on it but most of the suspension has been replaced. The car sports an AirRide Coolride suspension so you can control your ride height and firmness with just a push of a button! The interior has some nice touches with aluminum accents and like-nice leather/suede cobra seats. A/C and heater works. See below for extensive list of modifications:

I think it looks fine. If a lot of those people are like me, they get on Ebay to browse when they are bored and arent serious bidders. I sometimes look to get ideas for my car/motorcycle. I think it looks like you have a nice car, and worth what youre asking.

The market is really soft right now with the economy in the crapper. If you look at "completed auctions" on eBay, very few cars are selling.

Personally, I think your price is very reasonable and the car looks good. It's just a bad time to be trying to sell.

Nice great car. Well worth the asking price.

Bad time to sell you will probably sell it at a larger discount if you "have" to get rid of it. If you can keep it, its probably to your benefit to do so. Early spring is a better time to sell as more people start looking again at toy/sport cars. Just dont wait too long as the market gets full of mustangs for sale after a few weeks of good weather.

+2 Very nice car, must be rough to let that one go. Looks like somebody is going to get a pretty good deal actually. I got my car from Ebay (sort of), before I found it I ran across 2 cars I was really really interested in, and I bid on 20 or so that I would buy for the right price. I was shopping ebay for about 4 or 5 months before I finally bought. Every time I bid on a car I was always the high bidder until the last day. When I was bidding on day 3 of 7 or 5 of 10 I had to hold off bidding on other cars until somebody outbid me or I won the auction, I had about $7k to spend and if something sweet came along I didnt want to wait on an auction ending or try to retract a bid, so I quit bidding and I would just set a reminder when the auction was ending and go into that day and bid, I'll bet you see a bunch of action on the last day. Also remember Ebay's gets the most hits on Sundays so you'll probably see your watch count pick up on Sunday so ending Sunday Monday or Tuesday will get you better odds than ending Thursday Friday or Saturday. I actually sent a question to the seller to see if I could go drive it, while there he asked if I would buy it outside of ebay so he didnt have to pay the fees for selling, so I bought for $3800 earlier this year, and it was bone stock, needed a clutch and tires with 120K miles. I would have rather just bought something like yours, I just couldnt find one somebody had done right, we've got strict smog laws here (as you do in FL I think right?) and it seemed like everybody had an X cam and no cats on their cars and I was limiting my search radius to 500 miles so I saw several set up to fail smog, that were registered in California. K dragging this one on, Good luck man I hope you get what you need out of her.

I wish I was in the market. Car looks killer even for the buy it now price. I bet you get bids on the last day or even the last hour of the auction... the 90% of your time on ebay is just advertising...

+1... winters always a bad time to sell

The car has cats but actually FL did away with smog testing. The state gov did a study and determined that with the large # of newer vehicles and dwindling older vehicles that the program was not cost effective. Laws are still in place but not tested for.

Thanks (BTW I've always liked your paint) I hope so, I just can't imagine buying a car like that without even asking questions, guess that's just me though.

That's a good point about winter, I guess not everyone in the country still has highs in the 70s.

This week here in the STL we have highs in the low 40's with lows around 31 tues. and wed. Friday its supposed to be a high of near 70 and a low of high 40's.

Weather around here over the season change can vary as much as 70-80* in the same day with ice on the car in the morning and needing the A/C in the afternoon.

Either way good luck with the sale and I would not budge for a nice well built car.

deff not asking too much - i've seen cars with less work go for more so i feel that you are really cutting a deal here
wait up with ebay and g.luck with the sale

PS - why dont you put it up on mustang traders and such sites where ppl will really appreciate the work you have put into it....just my .02

It was kindof like flipping a coin. I started with craigs list, then ebay..I'll do mustang traders next if I don't sell it on ebay. Thanks!

You'd get about 6.5K to 7Kfor that around here. I think your price is reasonable. But with the market they way it is, plus it being winter, its gotta be the worst time in the last 10 years to try and sell a sports a car. Keep the faith but it may be 6 months or so before you find a buyer.

Might try Mautofied.com. I have used that site for each of my listings that i have and they sold pretty fast. That is where alot of people go to get cars that are modded or built. Should try it. Just don't put possible trade on it, unless you want to trade for something, cause you usually get alot of low ballers on there that wanna yank your chain for crap that needs alot of work for your car that needs nothing lol. But yeah put it on there for firm and put no low ballers and see what you get. Just let me know what you think. BTW your car looks really good, like the air suspension pic.:nice:

I wouldn't sell it for $7500 I'll tell you that right now. It would cost over double that to replicate that car.

I wouldn't take a dime under 10k.

I have like 14k in mine inlcuding the car, and it's not even a 347. I would never sell it for less than 10 ever, despite the high milage.

People are cheap, broke, *******s. They want bottom dollar buying it, and want a fortune to sell it. Put it on autotrader and see what happens. I would buy it for that price if I was in the market all day long. Good luck!

Thats actually a very nice car. Most people just don't have the money and are window shopping. It's well worth the money if its what they would want, and I see no problem in that being what its worth to the Right person, not so much the general crowd.

Seems like a nice car. First I would limit the information in the ad to a few points about the motor and history then let the pictures sell itself. It's ok to put the info there, but realize that the pictures will sell it more than the text. I want to know if it looks good and will it fall apart. Does it look like whoever did the work is generally competent? Know what I mean? The engine pics or ok and the interior is ok, but the body shots are too small to trust IMO. If there is crazy orange peel or even wrinkles in the panels or bondo marks, I can't tell from those pictures. That's how I (maybe not others) would judge your car.

If I could DRIVE your car and see it in person and realize that it is indeed as nice as it may seem, it would be worth $7500. But it seems to me you lose a large premium since the buyer may not be local or willing to risk a trip to inspect it. The buyer is taking a risk by bidding on it nearly unforseen.
