Door map pockets???

You need to pull off the door panel, flip the panel over and bend the metal clips back that hold the map pocket panel on. Once you get it off pull the staples out of the panel that the map pocket is on. be careful when you take off the staples because some of them also are for the vinyl for the panel too.

Thanks for the info...That seems like a job a can do when i get ready to replace the door speakers....:nice:

I replaced mine. They were under 100 bucks shipped on Ebay. They look much better. I like the pockets when they are nice. I like the factory FOX interior. Nothing against custom work though.

Yeah they do look good were they hard to replace? Also stupid question does the door panel have to come off to remove the speaker? if so i will do both at the same time.....And does the door panel come off hard? I dont want to break anything...LOL.....

I removed the pockets and replaced them with leftover perforated leather from my seat project.

Thanks. I took my door panels off, laid them flat on a table, and then you just bend the metal tabs up straight. The old map pocket will drop out. Then you take the new one poke the tabs through the panel and bend them downward. I took my panel off because you have to take all the bezels and arm rest off anyways to get behind. I didn't want to bend the panel too much, so I just removed the entire thing.

So what do call the interior in Hack Job? :D

 Good question!!! I totally contradicted myself. What I said, made no sense. :rlaugh:

SVT32VDOHC where did you get your door panels?

The left door panel I had in my "stang stash" upstairs for years. The right side I had to buy on Ebay. Fortunately I got it for 85 bucks shipped. I couldn't touch a pair of them for under $275. I got outbid on every pair going up to 275. The map pockets I bought on ebay as well. I stummbled across a seller you asked 100 obo. I offered 65, he countered with 85. I said send 'em.

My drivers side map pocket is the original one, It was sagging just a little before my easy fix. I pulled the elastic toward the center, one end at a time, then used needle and thread to sew the elastic tight. The extra elastic was then cut off and removed. You can't see where the elastic is sewn because its still inside the pocket and also right next to the snap.

Sorry if that was confusing, I'll try to make it clearer if needed.
