Ok so uhm lol.... heres the deal, my 2000 Gt has problems, and has had problems, so ill start with the story and explanation of the problems....

First problem was my older brother bought it with 12,000 miles on it, so a new car, and him driving.... not good. Ok so I want to say the first thing that went wrong with it was the intake manifold cracked like every other damn mustang, so now its got a much nicer one on it.

He ended up destroying the stock tranny in it by snapping the centershaft, yeh i know lol, and put another one in it....destroyed that too by forgetting to put fluid in it....ugh.... Then the rear end went out, he replaced that. After that he went into some big debt (a double wide camper, a boat, and a new house and only 52K a year....yeahhhh) So the car sat, I had a new motor and basically everything put on my 01 S10 extreme, and now it sits in the garage under a tarp and is gonna get painted and some wheels soon and go into shows but as for now, it sits there and my wife nags me about it. So I decided to buy the stang from my brother for 5 grand, it had 100,000 miles on it, so i bought it and dropped a used t-45 in it, and new tires.

After having the car for 3 months, the brakes went out, so I replaced..EVERYTHING with the breaking system except the brake booster. The problem was the master cylinder but for safety...it needed the rest too. I also replaced the crappy plastic clutch pedal adjuster thing, with a STEEDA aluminum one.

Ok so after doing that, I had ridiculous vibration on the highway, usually around speeds of 50-70 mph, that ended up being my driveshaft about to fall the hell out. So I replaced the driveshaft, it had rust and what not on it, so i just got one of the fancy lighter weight more expensive ones, and tightened it down to torque specs.

So now im having more issues, I eventually want to get the car into a show car state, but i dont want to spend the kind of money i did on my truck, but i may end up having too. So for now I want to fix all the problems, here is what I have...

During idle, it will act as if it is missing, BUT only when the AC is on, so i was thinking my ac compressor may be going out????

Oh also I replaced the IAC valve and a pulley that was messed up, still having the idle problem...

Ok so the other problem is in the mornings (cold) the car has died once or twice when coming to a stop, any ideas on that?

Uhmmmm, im trying to get all the wierd things first, oh, coolant light is on, but I was told it was a sensor, do you think if the stock radiator is in it, should i jsut replace the entire cooling system, (just radiator, hoses, thermostat, etc.)??

Now my bigger problem, there is no change in the performance of the car BUT, my tranny is whining. When in 3rd gear and given some gas, it sounds like a supercharger, the sound seems like it coming from the motor, but its the tranny, only does it in 3rd. Is it possible that i may need a 4th tranny in this car????? if so I will do an upgrade, possibly a t56 but I understand i may need a converter for that.

Everythign else seems fine, it has flowmaster exhaust on it now, wouldnt mind upgrading teh exhaust for performance and sound, probably wont see an increase in performance until i get more for the intake and motor but eh.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

the coolant thing is easy...sounds like the sensor that plugs into the reservoir. (has a floting thing that detects the level)

transmission whine...is it the right fluid level? I know you shouldn't have too much or too little, has to be just right - or a synchro is gettin tired in there. Generally I think third gear sync takes a beatin, especially if someone abused that tranny.

As for weird idling...I'm sure it does that every time the AC clutch engages...does AC blow cold? I'm not really sure what in the AC system would bog it down like that.

I was thinking it would be a synchro but I wasnt sure, I havent checked the fluid in a while, I will be doing that this weekend, along with changing my coolant and oil. The tranny was bought used with about 40K miles on it.

A friend of mine thought the same thing for a while, that it could be the AC clutch, not sure though, I will be investigating it further, but to answer your question, yes it blows extremely cold, especially on the interstate.
