Ok so I just had the motor stroked and bored to 347ci. hydraulic cam and roller lifters. The heads are stock. I now have blue smoke coming from the exhaust pipes. When first starting up and when I get on the throttle hard anybody got any ideas. Its eating up 2 quarts of 20-50 full synthetic every 150 miles. And yes i did the propper break in for the motor.

Sounds like massive blow-by. Also why would you use E7 heads on a 347, those dont flow enough for a 302. sure you didnt forget anything with pistion rings and had them all gappped correctly? Either way I dont think its going to be an easy fix

the heads are stock but had them worked to run with the motor. Im looking into getting Edelbrock Victor Jr heads heads for the block when i get the money. Im hopping to avoid putting new rings on it and hopping that it just the heads.

what dose oil in the throttle body mean.

What intake are you using and are you running a stock PCV setup? If it is stock PCV make sure there is not a clogged screen or clogged vac line from the PCV.

If your heads were gone though make sure new seals and such were used! Also, when you first started the motor did it smoke like this? Maybe the rings did not seat If they did not seat by now they will never.

90mm! That is some serious overkill for that combo. You'd probably be better off with a 70. About the oil issue, maybe your rings were installed improperly or not seated at all or it could be the PCV issue if it's clogged. Who did your engine build?

you know ive looked every where and i dont see a pcv valve any where on the valve covers. all i have is a tube coming from the oil fill going to the throttle body. B & B did the Machine work and Competition Auto did the build. Ive also put 3000 miles or so on the motor befor this started to happen.
