got the tries mounted yesterday. The tire shops really rip you off to get them mounted. I got 2 price quotes to mount them $110 and $83 :notnice: on provided loose wheels. last time I got something mounted, it was $13. I ended up going to the place for $83. The place that wanted $110 said 17" was considered "oversized" wheels and he could not gauruntee they would not scratch the wheels.... 16-17" is stock on nearly every car.

They seem to ride really good for the price. They hookup better than the stock tires, but that is not saying much.

I will post pics tommorow.

btw, these have the grey painted inserts like OEM, not like the black AFS replicas. I got snake center caps with them, but will be putting on SVT center caps.

this is where having a GF who's dad owns the local tire shop comes in handy. New tires at cost + free shipping + free mounting + free balancing + free chrome valve stems:hail2: Love the wheels tho man, nice choice:nice:

BTW...did they put the wheel weights on the inside of the rim? I hate the wheel weights on the outside of the rim on my stockers. Ruin the looks in my opinion. Or can they put wheel weights on the inside?

yes, made them use stick on weights inside the wheel

I used to work at Discount Tire for about 2 years, and to completely 0.00(balance) them out on the machine; we sometimes have to put them on the outside as well as the inside....so I would make sure that they balanced them right....

I've worked at two store locations as a tire tech and sometimes we didn't go through the whole "process":nono:.....lets just say that you have to get on the peoples (usually 2 per car) back, and watch what their doing and make sure their doing everything correctly. I HATED when people did this, but it did make me do everything right:nice: ; and looking back, we were just being dumb and trying to do the least amount of work as possible.

I'm just telling everyone, to just make sure that they are doing what you paid for, and they WILL half a** the job, if your not right on their back.....heck, 3 days ago my brother got screwed over with his Lexus GS400, them for not balancing his wheels out; and had horrible "death wobble". They did fix it, but probably just another slacker just trying to get by.

Hope this is helpful....the dark side of Discount Tire lol :grouphug:

By the way, AWESOME looking stang, sooo clean!!

Cheers,

Edit: What size tires are those, and brand?

Tire balance ?static balance vs dynamic .static bal is up and down and dynamic is side to side.weights on inside and out is static and dynamic and is best 4 off of vech balance.on vech is tops.you also have products 4 inside of wheel
