Yesterday at the dragstrip, I was getting locked out of 4th gear. On the drive home I found that I couldnt stay in 4th gear, it pops out even under light load. The other gears are fine, including reverse.

The T-45 was recently rebuilt (with stock components), and it only has 20 passes and 8000 miles since the rebuild. Before I start thinking about internal problems and a new tranny, is there anything else that should be checked? I did try backing off the 2nd/4th gear shift stop on my MGW shifter, but it still does the same thing.

Anything else that can be check/tested? Thanks

Who rebuilt the tranny? It sounds like the synchro's are bad already. I think when it was rebuilt something went wrong. Did you race at the track with low miles on the tranny? If so, you should have broken it in first. Sadly I think you need another rebuild by a better shop or a new tranny. I say screw it and get a TKO600!

If I get a new tranny, I'm thinking of a Promotion T-45 over a TKO 600. Supposedly, they have beefed up internals and can be shifted passed 7000 rpm. I heard the TKO 600 doesn't want to shift past 6000 rpms -which is a big problem for us centrifugal blower guys since thats where we make all our power.
