I had been hearing a small popping every time I pressed the clutch for the past few days, so I wasnt surprised when it snapped. Luckily I was 20 feet from my house and a few blocks from my moms house. So I just went to my moms and got her car.

So now I need a new cable. What brand would you recommend? I dont really need an adjustable one since I already have a FWA and quadrant. And the cheaper the better. :)
Thanks guys.

I've used the Ford adjustable cable before (with an old school SVO single hook quadrant). I thought it was ok but it in no way compared to the MM unit. With as many times as a clutch pedal is depressed, the extra cost (of the MM cable, and your choice of FWA if needed) is worth it.

I think the universal cable is like a MMCL 11.

I would like to use this cable with a Fiore clicker FWA. They were backordered when I got my last FWA or I'd be running one.

I have the Fiore FWA and quadrant thanks to you recommending them a long time ago. I like them so far. :nice: So Ill probably get the MM one.

I have gone through 3 clutch cables including the one from MM. Although it costs more, you can't beat the stock clutch cable.

Any chance there's a heat or routing issue? 3 cables is a lot to go through.

(I didn't post to be confrontational, but just make sure there isn't some other issue. I figured you thought of other issues already, but it never hurts to ask.)

No worries!

Just to make sure it was routed correctly, I took a picture of the routing of the original cable, before I touched it.

The original cable did get a bit close to the header but worked fine for about 10 years before snapping. I first tried a cable from autozone, which made the pedal extremely stiff and eventually snapped.

I tried the same thing from MM and it only lasted for about 3 months before doing the same. I bit the bullet and ordered an original oem cable from MM and it has been fine now for the past two years or so.

I am not trying to down the MM cable, only described how my situation played out for anyone that runs into the same problem.

I have a new BBK with quadrant for sale, but to be honest, I haven't had good luck with them. I've gone through a few. I have the MM one on my car, and hadn't had any troubles since.
