Hello All,

Wanted to see if anyone currently has a BBK x-pipe on their 99-01 cobra? I have stock mufflers and stock catback on my 99 cobra currently but would like to add an off-road BBK x-pipe. Just want to make sure this is going to have a nice aggressive sound, not too loud and preferably no tinging. I had a 99 gt in the past that had a bbk x-pipe and 2 chamber flows and the tinging was unbearable. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks

IIRC, the BBK offroad X pipes do have that annoying "tinging" sound.

I would suggest listening to some modded cars near you (ie - car shows, cruise nights, etc) with your own ears so you can better decide if the BBK is for you.

FWIW, I'm running an offroad Magnaflow X pipe (need to update my sig) and Magnaflow catback on my '01 snake - no "tinging" sounds here.!

I've got a Bassani catted X pipe on mine, with the Bassani Stainless Catback, and the thing sounds great. Not too loud, sounds fantastic in the higher range, and has a nice down low grunt. The X pipe really opens up the sound when you remove the stock midpipe and those cats.

here's an idea of what it sounded like

+1 on the Bassani Catted X with Bassani Catback. No "ting ting ting." And Slayr's spot on about the low end growl, plus its music to your ears when youre on the gas or at higher revs. Right after I had mine installed it felt a little bit too loud, like in-your-face attention-getter loud. Now that ive driven it for 1000 mi, I couldnt go without it.

i have a non-catted bassani x pipe with flowmaster super 44's and i get the "tingy" noise and i hate it. i think i am going to pick up a set of high flow cats to get rid of it. and if it still doesnt go away im going with an h-pipe. i had a set of mac mufflers on and it did the same thing, but it was worse.
